J. Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Brookhaven

This is not a complete review, I arrived after my daughter had placed the order. You order and pay at the counter.

With that said, I am able to address the - after the food arrived.

This was my first time here, my daughter has been here several times. She really likes the wings here.

The wings were reasonably priced, 10 wings for about $8, with a good amount of krinkle cut fries as part of the order. The fries are nothing special for thick krinkle cut. They were not greasy or over cooked, which is always nice. The oil used to cook the fries was not broken, not dirty and needing to be changed, or off flavor. The fries tasted like they should. Sometimes, average is a good thing.

The wings are good. We had the honey BBQ flavor. The wings were not the skinny small type of wing. They were cooked right, neither over or under cooked.

There is another place towards downtown that has the biggest most plump excellent wings. But they cost more, no fries as part of the deal - unless you go on Monday night and then they are half off - still no fries but who cares. About $6 or 7 for a dozen. Can't beat that place. Music can be just painfully loud though.

With the previous just stated, J Buffalo Wings are, and I have only had one flavor, good to eat and a fair price. Not the biggest most plump, not the skinny butt that most places use.

The place. This is the kind of place I do like to go. Half of the dining room, separate from the main area, has pool tables, great loud Mexican music but NOT too loud. People were in this area eating, drinking beer sounding like some singing along. Just great. Not at all unruly, just having fun.

I know, why Mexican music, no Mexican food, what's up with that?! Who cares, Mexican music is always great.

This is a typical low budget furnishing place, probably not the type of place to take a first date as I slowly learn after several no second dates, good filtering process though.

So, a somewhat limited review due to...

Generous, affordable portions in a utilitarian setting.

I've stopped in here several times, usually I'm just in the neighborhood and I'm looking for some wings, which are one of my favorite meals. I seem to be lured by the sign which says did they have the best wings.

These wings are not the big meaty wings that I would prefer like they have at Publix, but they do have a good chicken flavor. Probably, the most interesting thing is that they have a lot of flavors and offer a generous portion. Also, they have those big crinkle fries that are moist in the middle and have a delicious crispy outside from being cooked with the chicken. According to the cashier, they no longer have the coleslaw that I wanted. I have tacos and some other Latin selections but I haven't tried them.

The cashiers also seem to always be friendly. They made the extra effort to bring the food out to me instead of just calling me up there to get it.

This is an old Long John Silver's building where are used to eat back in the 80s when I lived around the corner at the apartments. It's worn and they've added a room onto the side with a few pool tables & loud music. Today, it was overrun with kids, which made the wait seem a little less...

Update: went for lunch today. Had fish & wings. Fish was nasty...either unseasoned or fried in old grease. Fries had NO seasoning at all. Wings also tasted a little like old grease. As I waited for my food, they were using a LOUD metal saw to cut into the floor right next to me...i had to move to avoid the flying sparks. I should've went somewhere else. --‐---------------------- I have got to stop coming here for lunch. Used to be a great place. Check pricing before you order/pay, and check your food before you leave. Salads are either falsely advertised, or the "chef" doesn't know what's supposed to be on the advertised salads. When you tell the cashier/waitress what's wrong with your order, they all look like deer in headlights. Last 2 times I came here I was disappointed.....with the food and the long wait time (even after I called the order in for pickup....still had to wait a long time). After today, I'll be taking a break from this place until the service and the...
