My late husband used to say, if a place looks busy, it's gotta be good..... Not this time. Yes a tiny place, yes. I guess I expected true authentic Mexican food, which provided by the pictures would show you at least one thing, the rice definitely is not Mexican rice. The tortilla is store bought. Fresh tortillas have a distinct taste and smell. Their meats are cooked and look like they should be, but the flavoring is off. The chicken looks great, but it's bland. Maybe it was just our waitress and the busy time, but sat there for 10-15 mins before getting the chips and salsa. For the prices they charge, I expected better quality. The guacamole you can taste had been frozen and then heated then cooled, if just didn't taste right like that. The salsa is probably the only reason this gets 2 stars. It was great thru and thru. I so needed this to be a good place but it wasn't. I waited to see the menudo. What is it with Americans changing the way this food should be. It lacked the hominy, and flavoring. The first set of tortillas came out cold! WTH?! So if you're looking for a quick bite sure, but there's no authentic Mexican food here. Better luck next time.

La Pastorcita is the perfect place for beginners to authentic Mexican food to get started because they have menus in English and their servers speak English as well. It was here that I tried one of my fav dishes ever chilaquiles. Here are the main components of Chilaquiles: 1. Deep fried tortillas: fried fresh here and broken up into small pieces, almost like chips but a bit smaller 2. Your choice of salsa: I choose green salsa always and theirs is great 3. Topped with crema and cheese: who can complain about these on anything?? 4. Choice of meat: You can get this vegetarian or with egg, chicken or steak. Personally I go with chicken (their grilled chicken is great here) but in Mexico this is often a breakfast food and goes great with eggs. After visiting Mexico my friends tell me this is more of a waffle House equivalent (either breakfast or really late night food) but I could eat them anytime! If you're looking to get into more authentic Mexican food and are looking for a safe place to start La Pastorcita is your spot!

The first time I stepped foot into this place it was to pick up a GrubHub order. I stood there for a good 10-15 minutes before I was even acknowledged. That's usually a dealbreaker for me when it comes to whether or not I would personally patronize the establishment. But I was recently looking for Mexican restaurants that were open late & what do you know...La Pastorcita pops up! Lol. I decided to give them a try & I was not disappointed. The food is absolutely mouth-watering. I've visited a few Mexican restaurants locally in the past few months & La Pastorcita is the BEST...hands down! Now, if we can just get this greeting your customers thing down, we'll be good to go. 😏

PLEASE READ TO SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY My order was suppose to be ready for me to pick up when I got to the restaurant prior to 11:00pm est. There was 1 person in front of me ordering so I waited. That person left and I repeatedly tried to get the waitresses attention to grab my order. I told her "this is an uber order and here is my ticket number". She asked for the name and I provided that as well (the manager/maybe owner was the person I spoke with as I've ate here in the past). She looked at the bags in front of me for my name then walked away. After then taking over 5 people's orders at the register and delivering food to some of those people. I kept trying to get her to grab my bag of food that said it had been ready on the app since I had been there... eventually the register clears and two people were served beers next to me, then, and only then does she take the time to ask me what I was waiting on again. I explain that we have been doing this back and forth for over 30 minutes, she then says something in Spanish to the other waitress and walks off. The other waitress then hands me my bag, I continued to say that I had been waiting for too long and why would they have not handed me my food, especially since I was there before every single person who just made an order at the register and bar. At made an 'oops' face and said nothing else, then walked away. I get home with cold food so my girlfriend calls back as I was writing a review on uber/cancelling my order that still said it wasn't picked up. My girlfriend spoke with the same waitress on the phone and she explained what happened and the waitress immediately volunteered to remake it. She drove to the restaurant to pick up the new order only to be told that noone had taken her order and that they were closing the kitchen. Not only did they lie about making a new order (that they offered) they implied that she might be lying about the food since she only showed back up with the receipt and I wasn't there this time. After being insulted we decided to return the entire order and I explained the entire situation, this time with both my girlfriend and I present. The owner looked confused at first but after I quickly explained what just happened, her jaw dropped and she had nothing else to say. At this point it was 12:40am and stated that I knew they couldn't make my food anymore and I would be taking it up with Uber. We left the cold food there and will never return or advise anyone to go back to this restaurant.

To top it all off, the cooks were not wearing masks, two cooks had no gloves, the waitress's mask was only on half of the time nor were there any other Covid precautions followed while I was there. It's one thing to make a mistake, but to also lie multiple times to a customer until they confront you with the evidence, that is terrible service. I support local business and have been loyal to this restaurant in the past but this shouldn't be allowed on the uber app anymore.. this is rediculous! They also over charged us for 2 of the tacos and apparently that has happened to other costumers make sure to check youre Receipt prior to paying if you...

I LOVE authentic Mexican food. This food does not compare to Mexican food in other major cities (nyc, Las Vegas, Los Angeles)

I had a lengua burrito the meat seemed as though it had been boiled with no spices it was mooshy and bland. The rice inside the burrito was also mooshy and not seasoned. The burrito was served with rice, refried beans and the meat, with a bit of mozzarella cheese melted on the top, sides of what appeared ro be shredded iceberg and tomatoes. Also the burrito was SUUUPER messy. Did not have the tuck a burrito should. 😕 I got the auga de Jamaica , it was good, not as sweet as other places but more concentrated in flavor . Also had the chicken. Nachos. Lacking on toppings no jalapeno? Small line of sour cream, cheese thaf wasn't fully melted and the chips seemed out of a bag. I thought it was owned by Mexicans but I saw a korean*? Guy who I believe was in charge.

The place was decently full around 10pm on a Tuesday. I don't feel the food warranted the crowd. It was a bit chaotic ordering, as these types of places usually are.

I wrote this review because the reviews that are up don't go into depth on the food and its not good. I was very disappointed. A fair amount of the patrons were white... I think this was...

The three stars do not reflect the quality of the food whatsoever. Let’s not get that twisted food is A1!! I mean the lines speak in volume even during the weekdays. However, I am obviously speaking from a customer stand point I have no knowledge of the business or how it’s handled but I must say you walk in there on a weekend and it is pure chaos! The staff are far too overwhelmed. You have 3 ladies on weekends serving tables, doing expo and running food, taking to go order from incoming guest and phone calls , bussing tables, serving the guest along the rail. The whole time I am in there I can’t help but think, “where the hell is the manager” why wouldn’t they hire a busser , and someone to just man the togo orders. Jobs suited for teens so labor isn’t as expensive. How is it that they don’t realize that doing simple little things like that will help turn tables and in return take on more clientele. It’s a simple formula, used In every restaurant it’s baffles me simply because I love the food here so much but it is excruciatingly painful to go in there and watch how the place is running. It’s sad because I don’t think it will change they are making money and that’s simple all they seem...
