Jebena Bistro — Restaurant in Brookhaven

This wonderful gem just opened a couple of months ago. Be patient while they get their website up and running and menus printed. In the meantime, for lunch we ordered a vegetarian platter, spiced fish, and firfir with beef. Amazingly fresh, savory, and clearly made with pride. The accompanying injera was moist and springy and perfect for grabbing tidbits and soaking up sauce. My favorites were the fish - big flash fried chunks of tilapia with tomato and onion, and the tomato salad that was part of the veggie platter. Who knew that typically bland tilapia could be so wonderful? The restaurant provides an excellent value for the amount of food you get. Also, my son ordered a coffee made from an Estrella machine which was superb. (Note they also offer an authentic Ethiopian coffee service and have a dedicated little room for it.) What a gem and nice spot in Atlanta. I am a foodie and I’ll give you a heads up that you will be obsessed with the food they serve! If you are in the mood for excellent food at a reasonable price, with great service and a wonderful atmosphere, go to this Ethiopian Restaurant. The food was amazingly fresh and delicious. We ate beef tip and grilled tilapia served with Ethiopian bread “Injera” that’s used to sop up the other parts of flavorful meal. The meat and fish are perfect seasoned and cooked, they are so tender and full of tasty seasons. The owner lady Messi is super friendly, she’s not just good in cook and host, but also very knowledgeable about both American cultures and Ethiopian culture. We really appreciate the way she managing her restaurant. We felt comfortable and relaxed. One of the best experience trying out food and the best Ethiopian food I’ve had in Atlanta. We would definitely return again in a heartbeat, and tell our friends who appreciate good people, good food to try Jebena Bistro, too....
