Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Brooklyn Park

Great place to take your children. If you've ever wanted to take your kids to a sit down restaurant and wondered if your kids could behave (mine are 7 and 5 y/o twins (I went with my twins this time), this is the right place to go.

Plentiful booths, a wonderful selection of foods for kids (the cheeseburger my son got was well beyond well-cooked, it was, in fact, dry, but I can imagine that stems out of the restaurant's wish that the food not cause illness in a kid--which I can totally appreciate. However, my daughter's pizza, which was comped because she was the Student of the Month at her school, was fantastic, well-cooked and delicious. She thoroughly enjoyed the attention. Our server was also the bartender today during his shift, and for as busy as he was, he made sure we were well-taken care of, was attentive, and refilled all of our drinks as needed. Really, you couldn't have asked more of a young server/bartender who was very busy behind the bar!

My children and I had a great experience--I'd return in a heartbeat--and the next time? I'd order dessert. :D

Only downside? The atmosphere seemed geared towards adults where we were seated--across the bar,...

My son had the lobster mac-n-cheese, and I had the salmon. The salmon was unbelievably so flavorful, no fishy taste at all, and almost melted in my mouth it was so moist and perfectly done. My son was also very happy with what he ordered. I had to taste it, and it was fantastic. I will go back again and again! One of my new favorite places to go.

*It has been THREE years, and I am still eating here and loving it! The salmon is still delicious, with no fishiness at all. I ask for a lemon butter sauce with it. Yummm! Perfect! The variety of food is so nice. We always have a hard time deciding as everything is so good, and they are always adding new things. We usually ask for the waitress Amy, as she is the best! They are all good, but we love her so much. Their prices continue to be very good. There is a night where your kids eat free, which is nice too, if you have little children. Love the atmosphere, very relaxing! And, also, can always get a few groceries and some nice wine afterwards at their store. That's lanother thing, they also have a beautiful full bar with really good prices too. We are never, ever...

It was our first visit and I would love to give this place a 5-star review because 99% of the food was wonderful. Unfortunately I ordered chicken with my pasta and the white chicken was dry as a bone and difficult to cut. The rest of our food was right up there with some of the best restaurants in Minneapolis. The second star I took away was because the service was horrible. The restaurant was practically empty but the young man who took care of us left us sitting forever between each thing, never asked us if we wanted anything else when he brought the bill never came back to get the bill and most of the time he was standing around the corner with his friends at the entrance where they seat you right where we could see him. We we had to waive our arms for coffee refills and actually had to get up to pay our bill and get up again to get containers for our leftovers. You get the picture. Go anyway because the food is worth it for at least for at least try. HyVee get your act together as far as the waitressing goes you have a wonderful restaurant so don't ruin the excellent food...
