The meat is always cold, the food is overpriced, and they aren't very friendly.
When they were opening a Dickeys in Brooksville I was really excited. I was disappointed from the get-go when after they opened we went in and they didn't do refills on the Big Yellow Cups and didn't have the typical $8.99 daily deal. They eventually did add the lunch deal menu and the cup refills, but with those improvements came more disappointments. Every single time I have gone the meat is cold, that's a SERIOUS disappointment when I'm paying so much for the food and it's not even hot. The fries/okra/onion tanglers are fried to order so you get awesome fresh fried food which only makes the fact that the meat is cold stand out even more. I have went back repeatedly always hoping for a better experience, but this last time I went today will be the last time. Today when I went in the entire menu has been changed again, no more of the $8.99 deals, not even any combo deals!! Everything is "a la cart" now. The girl on the line explained how "now you save more this way" and it is completely untrue. I got a sandwich and 2 sides, when I got to the counter to pay they again no longer offer refills if you being your own cup, and it was almost $3 for a cup, so I refused a drink, luckily I had my own water bottle with me. Had I purchased a drink the whole meal would have cost me $13 for some cold meat and another stupid yellow cup. The restaurant was hot, I was literally sweating in there, and there is no changing table in the bathroom, so I couldn't even change my baby's diaper. I will be throwing all the cups I have for this place in my recycling bin and...
Read moreEverything was great except they forgot my wife potato casserole and when I got home and checked bag and called they told me that they couldn’t help me tonight , that I would need to call or go in tomorrow and explain which kinda stinks because my food is gonna be gone by then and we will just have a side . Everything was great EXCEPT this , they still had 25 mins until close and we live 5 mins away … deff wished we could of been accommodated differently and still have to see if everything gets corrected.. will update .
Update .
food went good was great no complaints on that end , it’s more about when they forgot a item(side) and when I called to fix they told me they were closed (there was still 30 mins left) and told me to call back the next day to speak to manager and I told them , that it kinda sucked because what am I gonna do with just a side and when I called back the next day , they told me the manager would call me back well guess what !? No call back and then hang up when I tried calling back again , I pretty much am so disappointed I’m gonna start visiting the other bbq spot even tho it’s more money atleast they care about their customers. I have now emailed corporate and waiting to here there response and you know I hate doing this because I am a small business owner as well and i know how much bad reviews stink but at same time how else are you to correct problems and have higher ups even know that there is a issue ....
Read moreDine in Jul 29. Visited w/ daughter, her husband & g/daughter. I was SO disappointed. We were made to feel like we were nothing but an inconvenience. (Not the "new" girl. She was extremely nice) We were all but ignored, even tho only 1 other patron came in.
I know few places can compete w/ brisket from my home outside Lockhart Tx, but last Dickey's I went to definitely came close. THIS store I now know why there was only 1 other patron at 7:30pm. The person taking & preparing our order CLEARLY had zero interest in providing a worthwhile meal. Despite the price tag, my brisket "meal" was a small lunch portion at best. I know it was later in the evening, but to be given nothing but a small portion of culled brisket was THE ultimate disappointment. Even the rolls were stale, & when I mentioned this, I was given a look that said "So?" The entire experience was just like that. A huge disappointment. I have Stage IV throat cancer, and tho I didn't know it then, but it was likely the last time I'd ever have brisket in my now much shortened life. Having grown up where brisket is practically a daily meal, for my last time to have my lifelong favorite food to have been such a disappointment . . . I can't even begin to express how terrible I feel for bringing my...
