I heard of this place to my coworker and he got a Boston cream doughnut. Iāll tell you what that was. One of the most delicious donuts Iāve had and it wasnāt because of the Boston cream. It was the flavoring and a texture of the actual donut itself it was fluffy and it was sweet and airy, and it didnāt feel like it was too much like I was eating it in a very hot kitchen so for me to be able to do that I eat the whole thing and not feel sluggish. Loved it. Now today I decided to go by and go check out some other donuts say hi to discover that they have actual food not just regular food. They got soul food and thatās one thing that I have been looking for since I have moved down here from North Carolina some real good fried chicken, mac & cheese, and a doughnut on the side perfect I ended up getting the original chicken sandwich. It has their special sauce with coleslaw chicken tenders, mustard pickles I had a cheese it came with hot crispy fries not to mention it came on a very soft bun and I also got a small side of mac & cheese Now the mac & cheese is my favorite part because this is the mac & cheese. I have been searching for. Itās not too creamy. Itās not too cheesy not too. Itās not too much. Itās just right definitely taste like. A mama cooked it I definitely recommend this place 100% and I will be back! I also got the banana pudding doughnut absolutely delicious. I would give that one in 8.8 out of 10. I wish they were just a little bit more banana pudding but besides that delicious. Thank you so much for such great hospitality and great food for such a great price! Mind you I got all that food and a donuts are bigger than your hand all that food for only $18. Definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām sitting here at a table at Dough Js questioning everything. I grew up in Tampa, down the block from a Krispy Kreme and a local donut shop thatās been around since before I was born. Weāre talking a donut every first day of school, thirty years of experience being a donut sommelier.
Today I visited Dough Js here in Brooksville and Iām sitting at this table trying to figure out whatās going on behind that door? Whatās Seth REALLY mixing into this coffee? What does a donut shop in the country know about Cafe con Leche? How did so many donuts fit into my belly? Why is the sky blue? Are maple bacon donuts from heaven? Why is Zach so good at making breakfast foods? What is the new girls name and how did she get so good at making beautiful donuts? Is it possible that the US recently approved the use of crackcacane in foods? If I come back before 2, can I make room for round 3? All very good, rational questions.
Update: I accidentally ordered half a dozen donuts before realizing they had a breakfast menu, so I ended up taking my breakfast to goā¦And even though I was full, I didnāt make it a mile down the road before I was smashing a full chicken leg. A lady on Cortez made eye contact at a light, and I ate the thigh with both hands as I stared back. As I ate the final bites of my hash browns, I cried a single tear at the sudden loss. But then I remembered the Oreo donut Iād stashed for after dinner tonight and all was well for a few moments more.
For those of you who live close enough to eat here daily, take an extra donut in remembrance of me today. For surely I shall perish...

This is a very small restaurant that is primarily take-out. I went there for breakfast and ate in the restaurant. I had a glazed donut breakfast sandwich with chicken tender. Very reasonably priced.
The sandwich was super tasty with scrambled eggs and more freshly fried chicken tenders than fit on a glazed donut. It was great but it falls apart as the donut is too soft to make believe it is a biscuit.
There were 2-3 dozen types of donuts that all looked great and were the cause for a constant stream of locals (parents with kids, people on the way to work, retirees, etc) coming in. They sold out quickly for the most popular types.
There were a lot of unusual donuts and I tried the glazed croissant. No doubt French purists would be appalled. but you will appreciate the delicious taste of American ingenuity.
The restaurant itself is bare bones with zero ambiance. Also, I would get your coffee elsewhere as mine was as bad as the food was good. Anyway, definitely worth the trip. Next time I will try the amazing looking ...
