IHOP — Restaurant in Brooksville

First off, there were maybe 4 cars in the parking lot. There were maybe 5-6 tables with customers, it wasn't busy but for the way the service was you would have thought so. My husband works for a very reputable seafood restaurant in Citrus County, and we love to try different places. Yes, I know why would we eat that at a breakfast type restaurant. All the other restaurants were at least a 45-minute wait. We ordered a side salad for my husband and an appetizer( onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders). My husband got his salad, we waited for the appetizer, and never got it. We watched our server go from table to table asking if they had the appetizer. Everyone said no, she never bothered to stop at our table(we were the only table left that she did not ask). So guess what? we got that with our dinner. The server giggled about not knowing who had the appetizer. My husband ordered a t-bone steak dinner, and I had a salmon dinner. I wish I had taken pictures. The steak(if you want to call it that) came out flat as cardboard. It was so thin. He said it was about a 6 ounce steak. The vegetables were good. My salmon, well, it came out with the strongest fish odor. When I took a bite out of it, it was not good. Again, the vegetables were good. The appetizers were better than the actual meal. I tell you, if I were a critic, this would be the worst place to eat.

Update, a few days after my post, Brandon reached out to me to get a better understanding of what happened. He was very apologetic for what we had gone through. He asked if we would please give the restaurant another try, I was not looking for anything, he did provide us with complimentary meals. We opted for breakfast this time, I do have to say that my husband and I both left being satisfied with the meals and service. Our server Kyle was very friendly and courteous, he made sure out drinks were filled, he interacted with us, which was a plus. We ordered a meal to go for our son and he said it was delicious. I went there with my BFF to eat. There’s only two waitresses the one who met us at the door. I said you’ll have to wait then she found out she had to see us so we were seated and she asked us if we want a coffee or tea she got that to us Then we ordered well when she came back with our order it wasn’t even our order Then she came back five minutes later and gave us what we ordered. It was cold. Our eggs were cold. My toes was not buttered. Our home fries were disgusting. They had a weird taste that left in our I will never go there again. It was disgusting then 10 minutes later she brings us our check, not even asking us. How is everything doing? She did ask us how everything is when she already brought us out check there was only two waitresses in the whole place it was disgusting and I will never ever go there again. We just got our eggs and then she brought us our check. I had to yell to her ma’am, ma’am, I asked for two Sunnyside eggs up and she gave us scrambled and my girlfriend she gave her scrambled and she wanted over easy. It was a horrible experience and the home fries were disgusting. I will never go there again and I’m not a picky person. I always loved IHOP but it was a terrible experience and there wasn’t many people there we were six people in the whole place at 11 o’clock. It was disgusting if I ask for toast shouldn’t there be butter on it? This is an updated review. We were there today, Sunday September 21st, 2025 and this restaurant has really gone down since it opened. It used to be clean. Never a problem. Today it started with the utensils being dirty. I asked for a new set. Then our server brings us two coffee cups and one has egg stains on it. We had to point that out to him. Then while we're eating, another server is sweeping the floor from a filthy booth across from us (which should have been cleaned before we sat), but she is sweeping the floor towards our table. We had to ask her to stop. She laughed, but shoud've known this simple rule, not to sweep while people are eating, especiall in their direction. Then, Our food took way too long to come out. On the way out, my partner went to the bathroom to find it disgusting. He told the manager about it. So, I don't know what happened. But, it's going down the tubes. We stopped going to the one on Commercial way for the same reason. I'm sorry to say we were very dissapointed. We did not have a problem with our server, Cameron and the food was fine. But, unfortunately a restaurant shoud be clean and ready for the customer to feel comfortable in a clean and healthy environment. ...
