This location has always been on point when we've ordered food and we've never experienced issues with ordering, correctness, quality, or delivery method be it curbside or pick-up inside except once out of the hundreds of times we have ordered when we got a different bag size of chips we added. They work hard and remain courteous to quickly get orders up and out, so kudos to the food prep heroes, the car runners, and the ones off to the back slinging drinks and stocking up for the rest of the crew.
However, the front counter leaves much to be desired, hence the 3 stars.
When not ordering food and either picking up items or turning in lottery tickets for cash/free tickets, it's really a mixed bag on what you're going to experience. Sometimes, great customer service, other times, not so much.
Whoever is training the cashiers at the front of house needs to spend a little more time on the younger ones, especially the one smaller girl who worked last Saturday 6/21 about 4pm and the other younger girl with glasses who was also there on a weekend. Both were about as personable as a dial tone and could barely handle their simple tasks.
Both need training in how to count money back to customers instead of crumpling money up and either tossing it on the counter or handing it back without so much as an utterance of amount. It's rude and uncalled for.
The smaller one who thinks she's too cute to be bothered by a job took my lottery tickets to turn in, came back, opened the drawer and handed me money without a word. When I asked if the amount I thought I had won was the amount she handed me, she blinked and nodded as I stood there and counted it out for myself. I said, ty have a nice day, she walks off like she'd been visited by a ghost. I'm not looking for an interpretive dance with the receipt paper or a fake theme park greeting, but for the love of all things hoagie, speak and do your job. Real humans are standing in line expecting to be greeted or at least treated like people not some piece of trash that's impeding on your flirting time or time spent spinning in circles like a moth caught in the fixation of a street light.
Managers, I know you're super busy, I know alot of things are going on and coming at you a million times a minute, but please check the behaviors and actions of your counter people before someone takes issue beyond leaving a review. I know retail can be hell, I know working on the weekend is a bummer but if handing back people money is a chore or speaking is such a horrible experience they'd rather not do it, maybe find a better use for those who seem to have problems with the simple tasks like treating people like humans.
Overall, better location than others when it comes to food prep. Worse counter service than other locations when it comes to buying anything else or turning in lottery tickets. Mixed bag, but worth the visit if you need gas, food, atm, or air...
Read moreThey have one employee there who is dreadful. The rest of my people there I'm in love with and they treat me fantastic. Y'all know who you are I'll be there soon to get my coffee. Just hoping my child ain't working at that register tonight. Great food great people great prices... Except one....
NEW UPDATE FRIENDS!! At a recent visit, I was informed that the dreadful dude has finally been relieved of what was apparently the worst highest paying job for losers ever!!! (In his mind) And according to my peeps, it was "your review" that got him fired!! I never said anyone's name ever. If someone was fired simply by a description of customer service, that is not my fault. But now everyone's FAVORITE Wawa is a MUCH BETTER place!!! YAY...
Read moreThis morning I found myself calling the store to ask for the agm and gm, which then I was disconnected from that call, I had a women who claimed to be a manager ( which from working at Wawa is a lie because she would be a shift lead not a manager title) then answer that told me consistently that the agm and gm was not there so I asked when they would be in then she replied well one of them are here but there busy, I knew I wasn’t getting anywhere at that point, in the mornings at 6 am I always go in for coffee and a sizzli sandwich well this week has been horrible cuz they aren’t there at 6 am sounds ridiculous on my part but I look forward to it, I then was told that I can call in the morning and to say hey make me a sandwich. I shouldn’t have to do that, it’s not my job to dictate to your team hey I need one sandwich, there’s a lot of other people that will walk out because they are not made at that time this Wawa is loosing money because of that, because of consistency, it also alleviates pressure of the deli to have to overwork because someone in the manager ranks isn’t paying attention to consumer needs. I use to be a gm at Wawa in New Jersey. We look at money and the flow of our store because of our consumers. Hopefully this message finds you well and changes can be...
