@tainos_caribbean is an amazing ghost kitchen in Broomfield. I had run across it a few weeks ago and had really wanted to try it. It’s in a pretty industrial area that was fairly deserted with no large sign so I just went to the only door that looked open. Fortunately they had a small menu in the window to help me identify it.
This was my first mofongo so tbf I don’t really have a comparison but this was amazing. Crunchy but soft and savory on the inside. I don’t exactly know what the stewed veggies were but despite being a certified meat eater I didn’t feel like I missed anything. I have had empanadas and arepas before and these were really good. The arepa was a bit unusual to have the protein on top but it was amazing—savory with the familiar lime twang. The mojo pork empanada had a still crunchy pastry despite me driving it home. They had asked and I said it was fine to pack the guava pastry with the empanada. It was a very nice sweet dessert. I had forgotten I wanted to try the Yuca, tostones, and the other entrees so will definitely...

Food: Empanadas - shell was crispy and well-cooked. The shredded chicken filling was good, nothing special but still tasty. Would try a different filling next time. Overall rating 3/5.
Cuban sandwich - the bread was thicker and more “sub”-like than many cubanos I have had in the past. Also had garlic cloves in it which was a nice surprise (I love garlic). Came with rice and beans. Pretty good, would get again. Overall rating 4/5.
Ropa vieja - comes with beans and rice. Quite salty on its own, but balances out nicely when eaten with rice. Would get again. Overall rating 4/5.
Guava & cheese empanada dessert - same size as the appetizer empanada. Delicious! The cream cheese goes very well with the guava and is well-balanced. Would get again....
Read moreOk first, it's upstairs so if you go to the address it doesn't look like a normal restaurant, but you ABSOLUTELY have to go inside, up the stairs and enter his part of the caribbean. The food is absolutely out of this world, the chef is a down to earth guy I was even jokingly accusing him of trying to take my girl with a freshly prepared oxtail. Now this isn't like a normal restaurant where you sit and a waitress takes your order, no. You get your order taken and you can watch him prepare everything, and literally everything we had was absolutely Delicious. The mufungo, cuban sandwich, cuban coffee, tostones with wagyu beef, the beef empamada, and last but certainly not least tres leches cake with blueberry compote... you know it's good when your girl says nothing but "oh man, oh wow" for a solid min after taking a bite.
This is the best spot I've found in this area you absolutely HAVE...
