Update: thank you for the response! It was mostly frustrating because I have allergens and I was not able to communicate that. I will try the website listed and hopefully it is understood better in writing.
The website menu/online ordering no longer works, and the front desk does not speak English. When I tried to place a pickup order over the phone, they didn’t understand me, hung up, and blocked my phone number. I can no longer call this restaurant through my phone, so my boyfriend places the orders but they don’t get the orders correct so when we pick up the food, it’s incorrect and they have to re-make it. They also said they didn’t have a way to ring in the Kadai, so they rang in something else that was more expensive. They cannot accommodate allergens anymore since they don’t speak/understand English.
Really bummed because the new ownership seemed great, but I haven’t seen the owner there recently. Hope they are able to respond to this post, because the...
Read moreVisited this place about 2 weeks ago with my wife. We're big fans of butter chicken and decided that we wanted to try a new spot. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We started with veggie somosas, which were fantastic. The spices and herb use inside them were spot on. We also ordered some momo, the chili chicken variety. It came covered in a spicy sauce with peppers and onions, yet with some delightfully crispy dumplings underneath. We ordered butter chicken for both, mine was a milder variety. Exceptional! The garlic and onion/chili naan were excellent. Covered in their respective topics, some good crispness, with a soft texture. The meal was some of the best indian cuisine weve had in a while. We been to Jewel of India, Janakpur, Bawarchi, a couple others. They all pale in comparison to this butter chicken. Wasnt crowded on a weeknight. Staff were attentive and friendly. Environment was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Absolutely loved it and will absolutely...
Read moreFYI this place is no longer Durbar. It is under new ownership and will be changing names. It is a shame that they didn't tell us this when we went it. I have been going to Durbar for 5 years and have loved it. I love Indian and Nepalese food and have have had Chicken Tikka Masala from probably 20 different restaurants in the Denver area. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala like I always do at what I thought was Durbar and it was without a doubt the worst CTM I have had in the last 25 years. It was terribly smokey and was dominated by a black licorice flavor from star anise which. The chef came out and talked to us and told us they had bought it from the previous owners. I wish these guys luck and I really hope they figure out their menu but for now I would not recommend this place to anyone that is expecting the the delicious food that they are used to...
