Honest reviews guy here. I got no pictures as I go with the mission of eating that I forget to take some, but check some from the others for spoilers and I can update pictures next time I go. Just sharing now how delicious the food here is, that I have driven from McAllen to that place on multiple occasions and when introducing friends that most complain on the distance travel so far they have all really enjoyed the food that they disregard the travel time afterwards lol. Anyways, service is good no complaints on any of my visits, get there sit, receive menu, order, get food order relatively quick, pay and leave happy usually I get a torta and like 3 or 4 quesadillas, gotta stuff up due to the travel haha. Now onwards to the main dish, the food is simple, delicious, and affordable. Torta de Cochinita Pibil is my personal favorite! Normally tend to order natural non fried quesadillas never disappoint just make sure you confirm with cheese as some people want just tacos as the salsas there are pretty good; they have the fried option which are good too but never had a thing for those in general, others I've taken prefer those so its just depending what you like and if you are a first order at least one of each type to choose your fave. Menu is straight forward and easy to choose, from rajas, tinga de pollo, pork in green salsa, huitlacoche, cochinita pibil etc I think I've tried everything now lol. Oh! and although egg & bacon is common try it is so f* good, damn I want some from thre now. Anyways try the place or don't, but you'll really enjoy a really good meal I know I...
Read moreAhhhh! Brownsville just keeps getting better. Back in town, we decided to try 3 Marias out on a whim. We'd been eyeballing the place since our last trip but tonight was the night.
We walked in and were greeted by a lovely woman (presumably the owner) who was working at one of the tables. She told us to seat ourselves and grabbed some menus. As she approached, she asked us if it was our first visit. We nodded as we sat down in the no-frills but very well decorated and comfortable table. She was wonderful. She introduced us to...not only the menu but to the history of the food, the regions from which they came and even went as far as to explain each dish. She made several suggestions which we took her up on and then went about her way.
The food was simple. Beautifully seasoned and prepared and delicious. The ingredients spoke for themselves. The sauces that she brought out to compliment our meals were so good. So spicy and tasty.
I do my best to reserve my 5s for those that are deserving and 3 Marias is deserving. We will be back probably before week's end. I already know I will be missing this place...
Read moreThe food is okay, nothing special. Would not recommend coming here. Service is awful. HORRIBLE. Both the waitress seem like they’re unhappy serving and have an attitude. They do not have a polite or good customer service. They couldn’t even follow up with us. The waitress also put her fingers on all the food she brought, instead of just the plate, it was gross. The coffee terrible. Even a basic item, lacked. Couldn’t even get it fresh. I saw the waiter reheat in the microwave leftover coffee in a mug. The restaurant is small. Out of a couple tables they have, about 2-3 tables are occupied with either sauces the waitress are refilling and the other with a utensil stand. Leaving about 6 tables for customers. Then out of those, the tables were dirty with unpicked up plates while the waitress were sitting on their phones. Owner honestly needs to manage staff better, service has always lacked. Would return ONLY IF service changed. But overall would not...
