We haven't been here in a while but last visit was horrible and today wasnt any better. Today we went in for dinner and were greeted at the door by an employee that said they stopped putting food out at 8pm and whatever is there is there that they remove it at 830pm. So We looked and they had everything out and trays were full. So we decided to go ahead and stay. When we went to pay the cashier decided to give us a discount and charged us at a seniors price and our 2 teenagers at childs price so we sat down and Gloria a waitress greeted us at our table and asked to see our ticket. She looked it over and says there's only 2 adults? Because they dont look like 12 year olds. Making it seem as we lied or something. So I tell her we were given a discount due to you closing soon. Obviously pissing me off... dont take it up with the customer take it up with your cashier or Manager. We served ourselves and sat down other customers were still eating and leaving as well but shortly after we see that the trays are low and out of food and no more food was being put out. That was explained and we understood that but then servers and cooks all staff literally pulled to go boxes and start to fill up to go. They pulled fresh baked pizzas out from the back in to go boxes, the pulled out a ton of chicken wings and other foods from the back area. Mind you the trays were almost empty and the food that was out there was dry and burnt due to sitting out to long but the employers brought out all this fresh food so that they could im guessing take home. I wonder if the Gm knows what goes on rigth before closing? Wont go back there for a long while. No wonder Golden Corral is empty at that time, Ive learned my lesson....so dont go there if they...
Read moreSo this is the 1st time I decided to order a big meal and was pretty damn impressed so while I drove all around trying to find me some good fried chicken I remebered they have awesome fried chicken but I've never bothered to ask if any meal prep to carry out to my surprise they did and let me tell you they did Not let me down... everything seriously was made to order and fresh. When I saw the chicken at the bar to serve yourself I thought they would get it from there... they said no Ma'am we make yours fresh boy they weren't kidding freshly made fried chicken and yes fully cooked not raw I was damn impressed. They did give me heads up that it would take abt 30 to 40 min but I was ok with that but next time I feel like eating that I will call in advance. Anyways for the price and the amount people you will get your moneys worth. It even comes with desert wow! And dbl yum. I will return and if you all wish to order plz do so and be patient what I love is they have both fried and Baked chicken. That is my next order till next time. Thank you Golden Corral for your hospitality and awesome service. My dinner to go I highly recomend this. Beats other fast food. The taste is great and fully cooked.
For my 1st time here in this location, it was good, super packed, but because I was not aware, it was Veterans' free meal day. It was overwhelming, I suppose, for the staff, yet the food I chose was very good and well cooked, so thx...

She also went to the carving station for some ham. It was also burnt brownish color. The bacon also had a burnt taste with darkbrownish look. To make things worse, my wife decided to settle for cereal instead Corn Pops. The cereal was so stuck together that even when tapped with a spoon, it would not break apart. Wow! Extremely disappointed. We had a similar experience before, but we believed in giving local businesses second chances. We are proud of being Brownsville residents and I used to brag to my out of town friends about our Golden Corral. You sure changed that reputation around. Sadly, two weeks ago we went to the Harlingen location and the food was not burnt. I guess they actually contemplated that people were paying for their meal/ dining experience. Shame on those that see the food burnt and decide to still serve it. My wife addressed the burnt food to the only male waiter on site and his solution/reply was "REALLY!", and walked off like business as usual. Please start taking a little bit of pride in your work. You not only represent yourselves, but you also represent the City of Brownsville. That is the impression you give to anyone that visits our beautiful city. No wonder businesses close...
