Gorditas Doña Lula — Restaurant in Brownsville

5•29•25 late light dinner was great. Same as always and hot meals. Any gordita you pick off the menu is very delicious unless you want to gorge on food then by all means order 6+ I have enough with 3 but I always pic the revoltijo. One of my faves.

11•5•24 I had to return for a quick snack bite. i irdered the chicharones, and beans were very good. Ladies are very nice at this facility1thank you for my gorditas. As I said b4, it's just something to kill the hunger. Something on the go.

10•29•24 Came back and tried the revueltitos they are so good and packed it isnpricey but was very good just to kill the hunger. Like saying it's just a snack, lol. But very nice service and very nice staff kept very clean.

Ok guys, this place is very good. But for a quick bite, it is rather expensive for the size of the gorditas, maybe the size of your palm. They are quite delish, but each one is a different flavor and price and depending on what you get. Place is very clean the ladies in kitchen very nice the cashier I got the first time was rather nice yet not to savvy with the menu she don't know how to promote the items or recomend the second lady when ordered was rather kinda snobby not friendly had attitude. I asked her what the crunchy stuff was, and she didn't know how to answer I because I wanted a plain crunchy till I asked. The cook said they were crunchy chicarones. Very good. Like porkrines if you will. Anyway, my experience there was ok, but like I said, if you're a big eater with a big appetite, you won't get full. If you eat 3, it will kill your hunger but may come out under 15.00 with a soft drink. I mean, I ordered 3, and a drink was about $11.50ish. So I was not full. And ordered a single crunchy chicharones and yet was there. so technically, I'd say to eat here is more of a snack place, not an actual restaurant, and say wow I got full when you don't." Give it a try it's good food, very small, portions inside gordita, and remeber the size is the size of your hand palm now if it has 3 ingredients inside, you can use your mind how much is inside of it not much but...

I don't understand how this place has 4 stars. I bought 20 plain gorditas and they had no flavor and dough was so , so thin. This is the second time I go and the first time gorditas were just ok, service and environment was awful. I can't consider these Mexican gorditas because the flavor nor texture is nonexistent on this place. I only stopped by today because I didn't want to drive all the way to Doña Totas and I had no time to make them myself. This was my first time trying a gordita, and it was absolutely amazing! Gordita Dona Lula gorditas were fresh, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. The outside was nice and crispy while still soft and chewy inside, and the fillings were so good - perfectly cooked meats.
