Having a bad experience several months ago, I thought I would try the Brownwood location again. I really want local places to succeed but they also need to be held accountable when there are obvious short comings. The only good thing I experienced there was the waitress was very good. She was hustling and you can tell she was stressed but she put a smile on and watching her wait other tables she was patient and very pleasant. What I have no excuse for is how dirty the restaurant was and serving cold food. And I'm not talking about them being very busy and not having time to wipe things down. I'm talking about neglect over time not deep cleaning. Food in the window seals and walls that have been there a long time, windows not being wiped, everything you touch is sticky, concrete floors not sealed so all the food that drops on the floor gets soaked in the concrete over time and the floors release a strong odor that is musty. I know it's hard running a restaurant in these times with lack of people wanting to work and the quality of work ethic that is declining rapidly, but as an owner or shift manager on duty, there's no excuse for a filthy restaurant. That location is in dire need of a minor remodel "floors" and a major store deep clean. It's not a 24 hour restaurant so it closes at some point, which is when the cleanliness needs to be addressed if you can't maintain it throughout the day. Read moreOur waitress was very rude and not interested in serving us. I had to get up and ask her for a salad because she was busy talking in the bar area. Our food took 45 minutes, I ordered shrimp tacos, and the shrimp were still translucent and semi raw. No flavor. I had to ask another waiter, who was very nice if I could have some hot sauce or salsa because it was so bland. I took one bite and was done immediately. We had to wait 20 minutes to get to go containers and our bill. Again our waitress was missing in action. Earlier when we arrived, I had to ask for water. She seemed very put off that she had to bring it to us. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade, it had no flavor. It was possibly koolaid. Or a powdered drink mix. I have eaten at chili's all over Texas and this was the worst one by far. The last time we ate here my husbands dinner came out very late after mine. Only half of it was there, they brought the other half of his meal right before we were ready to leave. The manager gave us half off on his meal. But the service has not improved and is very disappointing. This time was worse, My moms mashed potatoes were cold the cheese was not melted. And tasted like powdered mash potatoes. We still left a tip, although I she didn't deserve one. All the way around it was a terrible dining experience and I will not be back ever. I will drive 100 miles if I have to, to go to a better chili's because the chicken and waffles are amazing. But not from this specific chili's. Now the food quality isn't good and you have to be really lucky to get one of the good experienced wait staff or you will never see your waiter again and never get a drink refill or anything else for that matter. Service and food simply are not worth the prices being asked now and business should be taken elsewhere until the staff issues can be worked out. We were regulars here forever. Years even. And haven't been back since the bad service and food started. Waiting to hear it has changed before returning and have not. I'm also not filling out another form that won't make a difference anyway because I'm not looking for coupons or a free meal. Just fix the issues you clearly read about here again and again, as that is what matters. If you can read it here, then you can fill out your form. I should not have to. Copying the same canned response to everyone and making the customer do more work is frankly adding disrespect.
