We had a great server, Nick. Very prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive in filling our drinks throughout the whole service.
What we ordered: Me: sirloin steak, medium-rare and a loaded baked potato with ADDITIONAL butter and sour cream on the side.
My husband: sirloin steak, medium-rare with veggies.
What we received: I have to mention here that I have a black pepper allergy and was very clear that it's not that I don't like black pepper, I have a reaction when I ingest any. My steak came with lots of black pepper. The food runner, who had a nasty attitude just dropping off our food, snipped that my baked potato will be an additional 3 minutes. I very kindly told her I have a pepper allergy, which the kitchen knew, and please need a new one. Our server inadvertently walked by, saw the steak, apologized and took it away.
My husband's steak was overly saturated with black pepper (he LOVES pepper) but said it's far too much to take. On top of that, his steak was prepared medium-WELL. It was mostly grey. None of the steaks on their menu are advertised as "blackened" but my husband's certainly was.
A female manager came to check on our food (she didn't introduce herself) and I giggled and said, "I have no way of knowing." She only said, "Yeah, sorry about that. Your's will be out soon". I then nicely showed her my husband's hockey puck of a steak (he ate 2 bite's) and showed her the caked pepper - she did not have much of a reaction. Having managed restaurants in a previous life (and understanding just how important customer satisfaction is these days, especially since we now have the power of Internet review's) I completely expected her to check back on us after my steak finally came out - she did not.
About 20 minutes in to when the food initially was brought out, my steak finally came. Although super dry because they had to cook it on the fly, it was prepared as I ordered it, medium-rare. The loaded baked potato had ZERO butter on it (I looked under the cheese and sour cream), and it was a very large potato; so, without a single bit of butter, it would be exceptionally dry. Not only that, the additional butter and sour cream I originally asked for did not come. I waited several minutes until our server came to check on us and asked him for the butter and sour cream. I really wish I would have had the forethought to snap a pic. It was comical. There was a very small smear of butter in the side cup and maybe, to be generous, 1 Tbsp. of sour cream in the other side cup. This kitchen staff needs serious training! The whole service (aside from our very friendly and competent server) was a comedy of errors from the beginning and we just wanted to leave at that point so I didn't say anything. I buttered the top 5 mm (not exaggerating) of the very large baked potato and went on with my meal.
The manager was well aware of the terribly poor excuse of a meal we both had and charged us for everything, even the 2-bite steak - not even an offer for a complimentary dessert. Hello? That's restaurant management 101 - you always do the following: 1) Ask the patron if they would like to change meals or have it replaced. If they turn that down, 2) Offer a complimentary dessert. If they turn that down, 3) Comp the uneaten meal. None of that was offered. I think the management needs additional training as well.
This review is rated 2 stars, ONLY because our server, Nick, is talented - otherwise, I'd give only 1. I think he needs to step up his game and work at a more high-end establishment. Also, the staff, including the manager, at this restaurant should take some pointers from that server, as he seems to be the only one that understands the hospitality industry.
We were very perturbed about the whole experience; but understand that sometimes you're just going to have a very bad meal, so we weren't rude or angry, we just rolled with the punches, paid for our "meals", then left. Needless to say, we will...
Read moreI’ve been ordering through DoorDash due to unfavorable situations the two times I did dine in. This time, I had a complementary coupon dinner for two due to their inability to produce my Cajun sauce on numerous occasions for the fish and shrimp duo (8) piece. I get home, and I have squash in my order, something I have never eaten in life due to an allergy exposed at childhood. I call to explain the issue. The lady could not hear me at first, so I repeated myself as she requested. As I was trying to explain what was incorrect about my order she rudely interrupts to tell me what the receipt stated as if the ordering staff could make no mistakes. Upon me trying to explain that I order this same exact meal at least 2-3 a month, she interrupted me again to tell me what the receipt said and that she was just reading what the order stated. At this point, I asked for the gentleman that had helped me earlier since I was forced to go inside to pick up the complementary dinner and a lemonade to begin with. Next thing I know, music starts to play. I decide it was best to head back to the location while still apparently being on hold. As the Manager (Mexican male) gets on the line I let him know who I was and that my order was incorrect. I advised that I was on the way and wanted to file a complaint against the female staff. I get to Cotton Patch #40 and speak the the male that had helped me the first time. The girl that I assumed spoke to me was right next to him. I let him know that I wanted an apology from whoever I spoke to on the phone and wanted my order fixed. He wanted to take the entire order back and make a fresh one which I declined because that wasn’t necessary. All I wanted was my broccoli rice cheese casserole and nothing else. I also wanted the young lady to come speak with me. During this time, I didn’t realize the lady that was next to him when I first walked in had already walked away. So, as he left to retrieve my broccoli rice cheese casserole he brings her back. I just told her I didn’t appreciate her disrespectful tone when I was trying to explain myself. She lied and said she told me to please hold and that it wasn’t her with the tone etc when I had only spoken to one female when I called back at 11:58am alerting them that the food was incorrect. She continued to try and make excuses and justify that it was not her. I then asked for them to go find this other magical person then that I spoke to. The manager and this girl both walked away. The male manager then came back with a white male who did introduce himself but I was so beside myself at this time that I cannot even remember names. They kept apologizing for her behavior and clearly did not want me to leave a negative review. They reassured me they would handle and gave me the small town speech and how word travels. I decided to leave a negative review after they asked for my email address to “send me something” but nothing ever arrived. So, I will not be back for quite some time. Hopefully when there is a new turnover. I will encourage all my friends and family to do the same and to take their business elsewhere where they are respected and treated with dignity. I don’t like being lied to by three people just so I can go away and so they can avoid a...
Read moreWe came here to have lunch after a doctors appointment. When we got there, we were welcomed by a very unenthusiastic waitress, named autumn. (The blonde one) We didn’t say anything because everyone has bad days, coming from an ex waitress. The food was absolutely amazing. Chicken fried steak and sirloin superb. I wanted fried shrimp on the side of my sirloin, when i told the waitress she said okay. When our food came out, there was grilled shrimp on my plate. She then told me that the kitchens fryer is broken. I told her it’s fine, just take it off the bill. After we finish our food, we ask for a togo box because we ordered a lot of food. I wanted to take the food home to my elderly grandma. When we get the to go box, the waitress and I are talking and she takes all of our plates with food filled on them and walks away. We didn’t realize because we were talking to her. We had about half of a steak, 4 pieces of shrimp, mac n cheese, we just had a lot of food to bring home, but it was sent to be thrown away without asking. I’m the end, the only thing we asked for was two to go sweet teas. She forgot them. We had to ask for the second time. Food was great,...
