Im so taken aback by this situation, to say the least.
I came to this restaurant this morning for breakfast with 3 people and my baby, and we sat at a 4-person table where we had one empty chair. I always bring my daughters car seat in and sit it on an empty chair next to me (no not in the aisle or their way), and then i hold her in my lap because she cant sit in a high chair yet, and she hates being strapped into her car seat. However, if i need to use the bathroom or set her down for any reason, the car seat is right there. I was the only adult with my group of 3. So i didn't have extra hands to help hold her or take turns.
I was treated so rudely by a waitress today and told that my parenting skills were "off today" and I was being "unsafe".
They told me i was not allowed to use the empty chair at our table to sit her car seat on, just as a person would sit at a table. i was going to be holding my daughter while we ate the whole time... So i ended up having to put the empty car seat on the floor next to us, and the empty chair got pushed to the side of the table. The waitress then scoffed at me, rolled her eyes, and I was glared at by her the entire visit. The chairs at these tables sit very low to the ground. The car seat sitting on the chair would have been able to slide under the table because they do sit so low.
I wrote an honest review about it, and 4 corners diner shared my review on facebook and lied about the turn of events where I have been called a bad mom by people who support this restaurant. I have never known it to be "unsafe" or "off parenting skills" to bring a car seat into a restaurant...where it wouldn't be in anyones way or sticking out at all! Having to put my car seat on the floor was more hazardous than in the unused chair at our table, which now had to be pushed to the side and in someone's way.
They asked me if I wanted a high chair, and I declined because she can't sit in one yet, and she would go ballistic if shes not held.
They are now trying to say I ASKED the staff for a high chair and wanted to put her in her car seat on top of it in an aisle way... Which is a blatant effing LIE. Now, they've turned their comments off on their post about me, conveniently. Then comes the keyboard warriors and mom shaming so they can look better, and like im just a Karen who was trying to put their baby in harms way.
Moms beware, this business is not friendly or kind to honest reviews. They lie to try and make themselves look better and shame their customers on facebook!
I love supporting local businesses in my town, esp those who support law enforcement and veterans, and it's a shame i won't be coming here anymore to...
Read moreFirst off lets just say the service is horrible. Get ready to stand and wait at the counter with zero acknowledgement that you exist. Second, the food was over cooked and clearly off a filthy grill. The food looked like it was sprinkled with top soil. Third, the waitress decided to give herself a $15 dollar tip when I only wrote in $5. Forth, when I called about the self tip increase the manager who I spoke with on the phone was off standing, accused me of lying, she refused to give me her name and than hung up the phone. Avoid this place. Not only will you receive horrible food and service, but in the end you will also have money stolen from you. If you decide to eat here make sure you check your final charge a few days later and take a photo of your final receipt before you leave. Good luck if you do decide to go to this restaurant. I'd be willing to bet the lady who I spoke with on the phone is the guilty party self increasing her own tips. The owner will be contacted. This is theft. Time to catch the criminal activity going on at this place. I am sure I am not the first to get ripped off and most certainly will not be the last. If you want a good tip, earn it do not steal it.
I spoke to the owner Marty Simmons Hutnick. She also accused me of lying and than circled back an hour later to let me know she had found the "mistake" made. She claims my dollar sign appears to look like the number 1 and didn't notice my total written in after the tip. She went on to post a story on her business page going on about how she was sworn and yelled at and threatened, which is false. She was unwilling to admit that someone was changing tip amounts, she accused me of lying about my experience at her restaurant and she also claims to have it all on video. In my opinion this is the behavior of someone caught red handed stealing from their customers. Why am I in the wrong for catching them in a criminal act? Just be wise if you go here and check your receipts and final charges. Trust me you do not want to deal with this lady if something is incorrect, even if it is...
Read moreMy wife and I stumbled upon the 4 Corners Diner in Romeo after taking a wrong turn, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. Arriving around 1 pm on a bustling Saturday, we managed to grab the last available seats—a cozy window 2-top mini booth.
The menu boasted an array of breakfast and sandwich options, sparking a debate between lunch or breakfast. Eventually, we opted for lunch. My wife savored the mushroom 1/2 pound burger while I indulged in the bacon cheddar 1/2 pound burger, accompanied by hand-cut and freshly dipped onion rings on the side.
The diner exuded a charming local ambience, adorned with scholastic apparel, trophies, and themed décor—a true testament to its support for the community. But what truly caught me off guard after a long day of Christmas shopping was the unforgettable flavor of my burger and the perfectly crisp onion rings. To my surprise, the bun was toasted to perfection! And the ranch dressing, clearly homemade, was a game-changer when paired with the onion rings.
I've had my fair share of gourmet burgers, but the bacon cheddar burger at 4 Corners was hands down the best I've ever tasted. The freshness of the lettuce, onions and tomatoes was remarkable, as if they were just picked moments ago. It was evident that the team takes immense pride and care in preparing such a delectable meal.
The staff was incredibly attentive and engaging, adding to the overall exceptional experience. The visit was undoubtedly worth the drive, leaving us thoroughly impressed and satisfied.
