I'm not much of a reviewer, but I had a very positive experience here and they deserve a shout out.
My lady friend and I came in for dinner on a Tuesday night. Sadly the place was pretty empty with the exception of a few folks at the bar. That didn't bother me as it made for a nice peaceful evening. I was worried at first, though, that the slow business may be an indicator of a bad reputation. This was dispelled immediately as we were well taken care of and the food was terrific.
The food is good old fashionebeing-sauce Italian. We started with stuffed hot peppers; dammit, they were delicious. They were quite spicy, but definitely in a good way. While the menu contained a decent variety, the gf and I went old school with lasagna and baked ziti, respectively. We were both pleased with the quality and generous portions. It was just as good, if not better, than mom's (as the name implies, I'm from an Irish family, but mom can cook). It may be a small thing, but the bread served with the meal was great; I despise places that serve crappy bread with a meal.
Bianca's seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. They have nice place settings and cloth napkins, and yet there are flyers advertising karaoke night and drink specials. Neither of these bothered me, and I guess that being a small business, you've got to do what you have to do to stay afloat. I did notice a separate dining area which would be a great for a rehearsal dinner, anniversary celebration or private party.
Our server was friendly and just the right amount attentive. A woman who may have been the owner or manager stopped by to see how everything was; of course we said that everything was great, and her demeanor told me that she already knew that. I appreciate that kind of pride and confidence in one's product.
We had a great experience at Bianca's and you should really consider stopping by. The all-you-can-eat-salad-and-breadsticks chain places will always be there, but local establishments like this are a refreshing alternative and deserve...
Read moreBest meal we’ve had in a long time! We weren’t sure they were open or even still in business because the parking lot always seemed empty (and the open sign is not visible from the road) but decided to pull in today and check…so so glad we did! The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. We ordered the caprese salad, mozzarella fritti and bruschetta (off menu item but they will make it) to start and my mouth was in heaven. The caprese was fresh and authenticity delicious with the best basal I've had in some time. The mozzarella fritti was crispy outside and gooey inside and paired perfect with their homemade marinara. And the bruschetta was unique and absolutely delicious. Main course was the Linguine and shrimp Bianca (I added sautéd broccoli -highly recommend) and the Pasta Di Casa with penne marinara and meatballs - both entrees were chef’s kiss incredible! Paired with some Pinot Noir, everything was exceptional, I truly do not understand any negative reviews. Price was less than we were expecting which was an added bonus. Ambiance was nice, nothing luxurious or super fancy but not dirty either, it was nice and what we expected at a family run Italian restaurant. Service was wonderful. I just hope this place doesn’t close since we’ve found our new hidden gem....
Read moreWe came here for our 5 year wedding anniversary and were thoroughly disappointed. I can honestly say this was probably the worst service we have ever received. We had a 7:30 reservation & upon seating server didnt come back for at least 15 minutes (There were 6 tables total & 2 servers). We put in our food, appetizer, and drinks. Our drinks didn't come for at least 30 minutes after that. We had to ask for our bread, the drink menu, and where our drinks were. The mussels were delicious. From the time we got there until we received our food was an hour. Granted, we got an appetizer but there was a huge gap of time between our appetizer and food - although it was all ordered at the same time.
Food came. Walleye was lukewarm and portions of my pasta were cold. My husbands sides were wrong and had to ask another server to take it back AND find his side of pasta.
We asked for the manager and the excuse was that the server is "new". I understand that everyone has to start somewhere but if she is struggling that much, maybe team her up with another server until she is ready to be on her own? We were offered a gift card but declined. We will...
