Super understaffed, they did the best they could with what they had, but super disappointing experience. We reserved a lane for 12:30 -2:00 and didn't get to start bowling until 1:20, due to a schedule issue(??)and had to stop at 2:00 for other folks who reserved the lane. So our family afternoon of bowling was essentially an afternoon of sitting on tiny uncomfortable chairs, waiting for our lane, eating our food quickly to be able to get some bowling time in. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. There's 3 much better mexican food places near here I'd rather go to, but we went here for food and bowling. My suggestions for management, more staff! A busy Sunday and one friggin person waiting tables is insane. Food took FOREVER to come out, and we were charged a full hour for bowling (we got maybe 40 minutes in, remember we booked an hour and 30 minutes of time). Would I go here again? Probably not, the food wasn't good enough to draw me back for an hour of tiny uncomfortable chairs, waiting forever for food, and 40 minutes of bowling.

A casual Tex-Mex cafe with 4 candlestick bowling lanes, in downtown Brunswick, Maine. (On Dunlap Street, I believe) So glad new owners renovated this "throw-back" bowling establishment. They reduced the number of lanes, and added side high top bar tables and chairs along the left side, so you can watch friends and families bowl together. The menu offers up most of the usual Tex-Mex foods we all know & love. The quality of my grilled chicken topped Nacho plate was very good. Our grandson devoured his tacos, while my wife enjoyed her quesadilla. Unfortunately my candlestick bowling skills are rather rusty, but our Grandson enjoyed smacking around the pins. Ah, the nostalgia recalling my younger bowling years . . . Great lunch place with kids & grandkids , or a dinner place with friends for a beer or glass of wine, talking about the "good old days" . . . and for fun, lace on your bowling shoes!

The waitress was friendly, however that was the best part of the experience. From a really cold dining experience where other pateons left, to nachos that came out with the meal rather than an appetizers and were burnt, drinks that were either too strong or nothing mixed in, to food that was just not impressive sounding on a menu. The pictures shown 11 days from this posting are nothing like it. They have plastic curtains up for construction, less corn hole games offered, no darts, and the Foosball tables were in poor condition. As I would assume they were finished with the renovations but I was wrong. Sadly, we have tried this place on multiple occasions but the results are still the same. I would not reccomend them to anyone looking.

I am extremely unhappy with the level of service, actually the lack of professional service, we received from your establishment. I was with my children and we phoned your business to reserve the lane for bowling for my girls and a friend. I had called, on speaker phone, while son spoke to your business. A girl answered the phone and we inquired about the availability for a lane. We told her we were looking for a lane at 9 and she said that it was available. We asked to make the reservation, he provided his name and the phone number 207-XXXXXXX. She confirmed that she would see us at 9. I had a previous engagement so they were dropped off on my way out and I left. I got a call which required me to cancel my plan and have to turn around and pick them up. The girl there told them they didn’t have a lane and that they should have been there at 7 which was incorrect. They attempted to explain the error and they were in turn laughed at and told that they had to leave. That is awful and unprofessional. I can understand errors happen but to treat people like that is wrong. They are teens but are still paying customers that should be treated with respect. Being told to leave and I wasn’t even there to get them yet was inappropriate as well. I think that your staff was unprofessional and disrespectful. My children have gone and paid money to bowl there in the past but after treatment like that I will not allow it again. I will also make sure that others are fully aware of the level of disrespect they had to deal with. The young people in the area are who are going to help keep your business going and the parents of their friends will be sure to know that this is not the place that needs the business from us. The movies or the other bowling alley will be the ones that I am sure would appreciate the money. We were doing our part to support the local business in the area but that is not something that I will do for businesses that cannot provide professional service and respect to the public. I am so disappointed and regret having thought this was a business worthy of our time or support.

Totally...

Awful.

I really want to like this place, but the food is horrible and the service is spotty. My family and I have been 4 times, once for a business party and 3 times for casual dining.

The people in the kitchen do not understand food at all, let alone Mexican food. Nothing has any flavor, and it's a bland mush.

I ordered a burrito which promised to have rice, beans, chicken, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. What I was served looked like a frozen burrito unadorned on a plate that had been heated in the microwave. It had nothing on it. NOTHING. It was dry: I cut it open, and inside was brown mush. I thought they had forgotten something, because I could see nothing but the bland mush. I sent it back, knowing they had forgotten things, and it came back just as terrible as the first time.

We went again because we like the atmosphere and we thought that it had been and off-night and we were giving it another chance. We ordered tacos that were just as uninspired. We swore we'd NEVER go again- but then I went for a company party, and the food was so good, I thought that they had gotten their act together! The food had been fresh and delicious. (Off the party buffet)

So we decided we'd give dinner one more shot. This time we ordered nachos with chorizo. This was BY FAR one of the WORST things I have ever put into my mouth. Disgusting doesn't even begin to cover it. It wasn't chorizo as it was ground pork with no spice that tasted rancid. It was so disgusting, my partner and I left most of it and immediately drove to Five Guys to eat ANYTHING that would get the awful taste out of our mouths.

The atmosphere is nice, and the bar is fun to "hang-out" at. But the food is SO TERRIBLE, and the service so spotty. (Servers kept passing by even on a not busy night, not checking to see if we had been waited on and ignoring us.) That we will never go back. It's a shame because there's a need for good Mexican food...
