We haven't been here since our 1x visit in 2019 and honestly, we never thought we would return. After reading and seeing how things are different now since reopening coupled with my intense craving for pasta we found ourselves dining in, and omg am I glad we did! We visited for dinner which is traditional table service now which is different from our 2019 experience and very much a huge positive change. We were greeted by a hostess, seated and then promptly greeted by our waitress, Shelly, who was fantastic, especially for all the tables she had. I had 2 different margaritas which I recommend, the Italian and the Pink Cadillac (this was my fav), we ordered bread sticks and the fried ravioli for an appetizer, both were good but the bread sticks were great. The owner stopped by our table prior to us ordering and he was so welcoming and really wanted to make sure we ended up with food for "us" by asking our usual preferences and etc. He explained which items are made from scratch there in house and he made some recommendations. He also stopped by about halfway through our meal to check in as well. I ordered the Chicken Nozze which comes with a side of spaghetti with marinara sauce and that simple little side dish of noodles and sauce hooked me lol. I will be back just for that, I loved the sauce, I added some Parmesan and red pepper flakes and it made such a delicious sweet but savory flavor with some kick. My husband had the dinner combo which is a half serving of lasagna and cannelloni. I can't speak to the lasagna personally because I didn't taste it ( what was I thinking?!) but I did try the cannelloni and it was delicious. He loved both and he really liked my dish as well, again, he really liked the side of spaghetti. We did not have any desserts due to our abstinence of sweets in observation for Lent but I most definitely will be coming back for that cheesecake that is recommended ;) I'm also coming back to try the trio seafood pasta. It's important to note that this isn't the type of Italian place where you are spending $45 on one thing of pasta that is full of truffles or etc, this is home cooking Italian, and most everything is made from scratch, and this is not Americanized Italian like the Olive Garden or etc. This is something I'd expect to eat at my Aunt Theresa's house for Sunday dinner. So happy we gave them another chance 5 years later, we love a good...
Read moreThis was my first time eating here after they reopened, I came in with my family. We had a disabled woman in our party and they accommodated us well with a table instead of a booth. I’m a server myself so I do my best not to criticize other servers when I go out but I felt it was worth mentioning that our server seemed to not know the menu well. When I asked about the caprese salad he did not know what I was talking about. He had never heard of the dish before which I found very odd considering he worked there and it was on the menu he gave me. He did not know how to was prepared or how to serve it to us and had to ask. I will say the dish was good. My grandmother had been served room temperature white wine the last two times she ate there and mentioned that to the server, she wanted to make sure it was chilled he assured it he would and it was still room temperature. It might just be the way serve wine there but I personally have never heard of a restaurant serving warm white wine before. As far as the meal goes I ordered the margarita pizza which I enjoyed, someone else at my table ordered the bruschetta and it honestly was unappetizing just to look at I didn’t even want to try it. The bread was soggy and not toasted at all, there was no balsamic sauce or olive oil and it looked like it had been sitting in the back for hours before it was served to us. I ended up interacting with another server while I was there and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, I wish I remembered her name. She mentioned they had recently changed their food menu, I’m assuming that is why our server did not know what caprese salad is, but in my opinion if a server waits on a table they need to know every menu item and I think that is a fairly common standard. The new bar is great and I love their signature cocktail list I will be going back for drinks I think, but I think their food menu needs some work. The bathrooms were also very clean but super dark to the point here I had trouble seeing in the stall. We all had a great time while there and we left full and happy although there were some minor...
Read moreI don't often give out bad reviews for restaurants because there are so many variables and food service is a chaotic industry in general, but this was awful...
Everything about our experience sucked. The hostess who took our order couldn't figure out which table to place us at because the host next to her wasn't consulting her on which tables he was placing.
Our waitress, Justina, kept walking off without looking at us after she set drinks down. She would say, "Let me know if you need anything else," and I needed a straw, but she was gone again. The next time around, I caught her and got a straw when she brought our breadsticks, which we ordered with a side of alfredo that did not come. She walked off again before I could ask her for the alfredo sauce.
The breadsticks were okay... but they aren't bread sticks. They were more like a funnel cake without the sugar. There wasn't any density to them. The marinara sauce was flavorful, but the alfredo lacked. The consistency was good, but it didn't taste like much beyond butter.
Our food did not come until the owner checked on us, after two other tables that came after us were brought food. My husband ordered the baked ziti with marinara sauce, which arrived with maybe a pinch of shredded mozzarella on it and zero ricotta. The marinara sauce was like red water... really disappointing. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo, and the alfredo sauce was somehow worse than the alfredo dipping sauce we received. It tasted like flour water. The chicken was okay, and the noodles were cooked nicely, but overall lacking...
We are not super picky eaters, so it is really rare that we come across something that is so awful that we can't just eat it and be on our way. We did not touch our plates after the first bite, and our waitress completely ignored us until we asked for our ticket. She did not ask how our food was, though it was clearly untouched. We decided to not mess with it, paid, and left.
Picture is of the Ziti. It had the smallest amount of mozzarella. This was...
