In all honesty, I'm not a "Sweets" person. Of course Chocolate is wonderful but it never blew my Mind until a Road Trip to Galveston brought us to Bryan and Truman Chocolates. You enter their Shop and at first glance, the Chocolates on Display are so perfect and beautiful, that they almost don't seem real? And then you Taste one and your head implodes that something as familiar as Chocolate could, in that moment frozen in time be THAT astonishing? We shared a Milk Chocolate, then split a White Chocolate and finally Champagne. And ever since, we have truly never seen Chocolate the same. Ever since that Perfect Day, Truman's has become THE gift we have become known for. For even their smallest Boxes are luxury defined. And in their Larger Boxes (up to 36 Pieces) each Flavor is never repeated.Such is their Artistry and Care. And this Year, they introduced Chocolate Advent Calendars which we sent near Thanksgiving and literally are still getting "Wows" for! And even though we now live 600 Miles West of their Shop, yearly, Truman delivers Perfection by Mail in EVERY order! I've taken the Time to rave here simply because, to our Family and Friends, Truman Chocolates defines "EXCEPTIONAL"! They are quite simply THAT...
Read moreMy teaching partner and I had the privilege of joining our 3rd grade classes from KOR Education for a tour and demo at Truman Chocolates!! Our classes had just read the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” so the parents of our class arranged our tour as a culmination of that unit of study. It was truly magical!! The demo and ongoing instruction about the Chocolate-making process was engaging and sparked creativity in all of us as we dreamed of the flavors we might create if ever we had that opportunity. Near the end of our demo, the parents of my class presented me with a stunning box of chocolates elegantly packaged and tied with a satin ribbon. I was stunned and so excited to race home to my large family to share a large variety of these delicate, delicious treats. I was able to teach my own children about the things we’d learned since I had taken pictures of each step in the process. The owner/chocolatier was so gracious and welcoming, along with his assistant who packages the chocolates to be sent all over the world as well as sold right here in the Brazos Valley. He loves his job and that love translates to his silky...
Read moreAfter three years of living here, I finally took the time to try Truman Chocolates. As everyone has said, the chocolates are very delicious. However, I was most impressed with the level of care and customer service my husband and I received as soon as we walked in the door. Due to work, we went closer to closing so the owner (Mitch) was there on his own. He treated us like family, like we were automatically important and he knew us. He had been there since 3am (it was almost 6pm at this point), and was still so inviting and patient. He even gave us a couple of samples in case we didn't like a particular flavor and explained to us how to use the Cocoa bombs (I've never had one before). I was having a hard day because of finals, and going to this shop completely changed my mood. Can't wait to continue to support this amazing culinary artist and person...
