My home had busted water pipes and I needed a place to shower, change, and get ready for the evening. I booked and paid by calling the local number, but was routed to Reservations.Com and was told I could rent a room from 10-6. Once I got there a lady in the "breakfast" area asked why I was there. I told her I was there to check in and had a reservation. She said "check in is at 3. " I explained that I had confirmed that I could check in at that time when I booked. Again I was told that check in was at 3. I then asked if she would at least look in the computer to confirm my reservation, thinking there might be details or notes. The lady said, "Early check in costs $25." I told her I had actually spoken to someone and no one mentioned anything about an extra charge and I had already paid. The clerk walked in and the lady looked at me and said the clerk would take care of me; then proceeded to reprimand the clerk--"You know early check in is $25.." and I stopped her and said it was through their booking service. She then said, "Well, we don't have anything to do with them." I argued with her that they have a contract with them or my call wouldn't have been routed to them. At that point I went to the front desk and completed my check in. I paid the $25 thinking I would contact the booking company later. Not only did I pay that, I had to pay a $20 cash deposit, refundable upon check out if there was no damage. I paid with a card, they usually just hold that for damages and what would $20 cover in event I damaged something. The door to my room looked like cops had kicked it in and didn't shut properly. There are holes in the wall and bathtub. No sodas in the machines, ice machines are horrible and the elevator is questionable, at best. Floor is filthy and made my feet dirty. Even the little soaps were all broken. Room was terrible. Fast forward to check out.. I couldn't get my $20 deposit back because "there were no housekeeping people to check my room first." I have to go tomorrow to get it. And I am fighting with Reservation.com to get that $25. Overall this was a horrible, disgusting place. My $50 room ended up costing $125 today. And the lady, "Sheila," is rude to...
Read moreNightmare Stay – Never Again. I don’t give it “minus stars” because it doesn’t have the option.
We had to stay here unexpectedly due to a family emergency. We arrived at 3 AM exhausted after driving nonstop and, since nearby reputable hotels were completely booked, this was the only place available. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. • Cleanliness: The sheets were stained, had hair on them, and we even found two bobby pins between the sheets and comforter. The wall behind the nightstand had what looked like dried bodily residue, the ceiling paint was peeling, and the fire sprinklers were rusted. • Amenities & Supplies: The Kleenex box was empty, and the only toilet paper provided was nearly used up and of extremely poor quality. The hair dryer had someone’s hair stuck to it. The bathtub was stained. The lamp outlet didn’t work, and the fire alarm near the elevator was chirping with a low battery the entire time. • Overall Condition: The room looked neglected and dirty, with multiple signs of poor upkeep and safety issues.
What made this even worse is the price. At $100 per night plus a $25 “damage” retainer, this was not a budget stay. For the condition of the room, it felt like a complete rip-off. Honestly, we would have been more comfortable and cleaner sleeping in our car.
Given its location near good hotels on University Drive, we assumed this would be a safe bet for a quick overnight stay. We were completely wrong. This place was a nightmare, and I would never recommend it to anyone. I’m actually embarrassed to recognize that we stayed here, but my moral sense of responsibility to my fellow humans, has me here, writing this review, to warn people and if possible, have them avoid going through the same...
Read moreHonestly, I wish negative stars were a choice. Third party sites should go and take a look at this place. Our “hot deal” was $30 more than if I would have walked in and booked it that same day. The pictures are completely fraudulent. Lobby restrooms out of order, vending machines out of order, ice machines out of order, elevator, you guessed it, out of order. When we pulled up the place had all the outside lights off and it looked like it was condemned…which It probably should be. I stayed here with my family about ten years ago and it was nice, unfortunately that is NOT the case any longer. Our first room we were given keys to, was not even clean. Beds weren’t made and bathroom was a wreck. The people in line behind us also came back with the same complaint. When we got to the new room, after walking by all the broken “amenities” and trash…the beds look like they were made by a child and were the white sheets were dirty in numerous spots.
We ended up letting them know that we were going to go ahead and book elsewhere and all they said was “you won’t get your money back”, they tried offering an extra night…which we were only there for one night. The point was complete missed because we couldn’t even comfortably sit on the dirty beds or chair much less sleep in them.
Took someone that had never been to Aggieland for their first trip and that was an embarrassing first impression. Complete disappointment, which is unfortunate because it’s a prime location. Do not waste your money. Something definitely...
