I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write this review, because I absolutely love this restaurant!!! If you want a true local Tex Mex experience, you have to visit Jesse’s tacos. The choices are almost endless here. You have everything from traditional Mexican options (such as Picadillo, Carne Guisada, Barbacoa, Migas, Chilaquiles, Pork Al Pastor & Chorizo) to your typically Tex Mex options such as chicken and beef Fajita. I love the Al pastor lunch plate and my go to breakfast taco is egg, bacon & chorizo potato (with the jalapeño green salsa). Great tamales and Churros as well. The food is amazing and the staff is even better! I have always felt welcomed by Jesse (the owner) as I come in the door, and his staff is incredibly attentive and accommodating.

Today was my first time visiting Jesse's after seeing him featured on the Texas Bucket List YouTube channel. To start, Jesse has to be one of the friendliest people I've ever met. I was encouraged seeing him greet all of his customers and shaking their hands. The staff was very friendly and courteous as well. I ordered the Chile Rellano and everything was great and flavorful. I ended my visit with some Tres Leche and that was delicious as well. I was drawn here after hearing Jesse's story as I've had my struggles get the best of me and like Jesse have found freedom. I would highly recommend visiting Jesse's with your friends and family. I'll definitely be coming back whenever I am back in town.

The breakfast tacos are yummy. The real star for me and and my husband is the amazing treseche cheesecake, which we get everytime we go. The owner recommended it the first time I went, and it's amazing. If it was open later we would go more often, but any time I'm in the area and it's open I stop by. Service is always fast and friendly, and the owner is super nice.

I have update my 1 star to a 5 star Here’s why. After the experience I had below.. I’ve been back (I always give places chances to correct the issue) 3 times for breakfast and it has been absolutely phenomenal!!!! I’m very pleased to see that they (maybe) took my previous post into consideration and corrected the problems I had. I’m the type of person that if I give a not so good review and also give a good review when it is needed! Thank you Jesse because you are a very very kind person and you deserve for great things to happen. Food has been excellent, staff has been super friendly an fast and the knat situation has been taken care of. I would at this time give 10 stars if I could. Thank you for exceptional service and food the past 3 times I’ve been back!!!

Walked in, stood in with two people in front of me, I was there approximately 9 mins before someone asked if I had been helped(I did not feel welcomed). I ordered the #6 combo with a cheese enchilada, food came out pretty quick, the taco that came with the plate was decent, the enchilada was disgusting.... the cheese was not melted on the inside it was just grated cheese sitting in there. I took my plate up to the counter and asked if they could heat it up because the bites that I had taken were cold a shorter lady with a hat on( her name tag was cover up by her apron) looked at me like I was stupid I don’t know maybe it was because I’m white I felt completely uncomfortable. I mean I’m sorry last time I checked the cheese is melted on the inside of an enchilada, I don’t know maybe they do things different here at Jesse’s, it was gross though. They brought the food back to my table and I shared my lunch with gnats that we’re all over the place. I was sitting pretty close to the fountain drink machine when a worker came over swatting at them with a fly squatter right in front of me. Not impressed with this...

This was my first and last time coming to this establishment. The lay out of the restaurant is very confusing. One has to go against the flow of traffic to order. I was directed to the menu and after ordering the #1 Enchilada plate, I was told they only had tacos. I asked the waitress what came with the tacos, even after her explaining it still wasn’t clear. The food on the server line did NOT look fresh and at the least looked very questionable. I ended up ordering carne asada and potatoes however, what I got was dry brisket. The food was extremely bland. Only after eating my food did I realize that they had cheese and rice which I would have wanted with my food. My boyfriend ordered the street tacos but was given burritos, which was one thing they said they didn’t have. The street taco plate included rice and beans as a side but they were turned into two burritos and we were charged separately for each. Our meal was $40.00 in total. Also, a family came in excited to try food off the menu as they were sent by a friend that loved the restaurant. They ended up leaving extremely upset. I was very excited to try this local eatery but will...

Found out about this place from a poll on Twitter. This taqueria was placed against commercial heavyweights. Had to try it out. Ordered a variety of tacos - carne guisada with beans and cheese, barbacoa, bean and cheese with bacon, sausage and egg with cheese.

Carne guisada was a little on salty side for my taste and needed more cheese and beans. Bean and cheese with bacon was very good. Generous amount of bacon, but again...needed more cheese. My son didn't like his sausage and egg with cheese taco. I feel it is because of how they make taco coupled with him not rolling (ate taco like a chalupa). Most restaurants mix ingredients. Jesse's does not...place egg in tortilla and then scoop on sausage or whatever else you order. Does make a difference.

Tacos were VERY expensive. I know I ordered "extras" but $5/taco average?

Still..the star of the morning was the barbacoa! So much flavor. I would have liked little more cilantro and onion, but they DID pack taco with meat and it was amazing.

Will bring wife to try...
