Went with a group of senior citizens for a fun lunch before going to the Messina Hof Winery. Several of our disabled patrons and the group leader were treated poorly by whom appeared to be the owners. They got very controlling and angry when two of the senior ladies were unable to fit at the long party table. Instead they comfortably sat at a four top table behind the group where their walkers and legs could relax. We were assigned one server for a group of 25 people. The management team left this poor girl all alone to take our orders, run our drinks, close out all the individual tickets. We politely asked for an extra set of hands several times, but the owner's wife felt no urge to help. Instead she kept telling the seniors to go sit down and "just wait." If there had not been four other employees walking around aimlessly, I would have understood her decision. Unfortunately, we were 20 minutes late to our tour of the Winery because this management team just could not get it together. We were trapped in this restaurant for 2.5 hours for a simple lunch special. I am rating this place for the sheer lack of human decency and horrible management. I would think long and hard before going into this restaurant. They called the senior disabled patrons "rude," and even shouted the "b" word at another one of them. This was despicable behavior from a small town place. Honestly, I am still in shock at how hostile and ugly the woman and man got when we asked for help. They apparently didn't care about ADA nor did they respect our time. We will not be going back nor will we be able to recommend Papa Perez. There are many other Mexican food venues in Bryan - choose any...
Read moreNot family friendly. I waited in a very long line just like everyone else and as soon as I approached the hostess stand with two toddlers in tow (strollers aren’t allowed in the restaurant) I was ushered to the bar for a to go order. I was ignored by two employees and I was the only person at the bar. When I stopped the young lady walking by who was behind the bar I was rudely told sorry we’re not taking to go orders tonight. When I asked her was she sure because the hostess told me to go to the bar and order, she asked another man who said I think so. When I asked her could she take my order she said no ma’am, I have drinks to make. I went back to the hostess stand and a different employee was there and a man shouted from the other side of the restaurant, tell her she has to wait. The other lady then said ma’am we just opened 8 minutes ago and everybody wants to order. I was done at that point. Took my girls and went across the street to 3rd on Main who was very accommodating and family friendly. They spoke to me with respect, acknowledged my girls in tow and took care of me...
Read moreTried this place for lunch today. Lots of lunch specials at a fair price. Lunch specials come with a Tea included. The chips were ok, salsa was good and had some spice. Service was Friendly. I ordered a Cheese enchilada and beef taco combo. The taco wasn’t good at all. The ground beef had no Mexican flavor or spice, very bland, they maybe even add a filler. The enchilada sauce was good, but it wasn’t hot enough to melt all the cheese. The rice was bland. The Charro beans were good and had a Smokey flavor. My husband ordered the beef fajita tacos. He said the refried beans were just ok, the beef had a lot of gristle. They do not have a Shredded Beef option at all. The place needs a good cleaning, and there were spider webs throughout. I am not a fan of the crayon art on the brick walls, it seems like unwanted graffiti to me. I ordered a side of flour tortillas because it said they were homemade and 3 for $1.79, I was served...
