La Monarca Café Y Mas — Restaurant in Bryant

I had a horrible experience here. The 2 young girls do NOT know anything about customer service, or even how to make their own food. The menu is tiny and cluttered, so you have to squint or know exactly what you want beforehand. I asked for a paper menu so I could see it better - there isn't one. My daughter ordered a piña colada. When blending it, the girl asked if she wanted more sugar.... like what?!?? How are we supposed to know if it needs more sugar? Do they not have a standard recipe to use or she wants my daughter to tell her how to make it????? I asked IF they can make dorilocos with esquites -because its not on the menu. The 2 girls just looked at each other. I asked again more detail - can they make dorito nachos with esquites on it. The girl who blended the colada, explained they can do dorito nachos with any 3 type of toppings, cuerito o ceviche or esquites - but something about they can do it all separate (and did hand motions like 3 separate plates. I asked if it comes in one bag? At this point it felt so draining trying to get a straight SIMPLE answer. It was like pulling teeth. I calmly told her I want to walk out bc I've asked multiple times a simple yes or no question and I'm getting told things that is a waste of time and energy. She finally said YES, they can make that. I ordered it. While waiting, I told the 2nd girl to ring me up an Horchata as well. Once my daughter was paying, they forgot the horchata entirely. I asked again and it was made. The dorilocos was just esquites on top of doritos. No nachos cheese sauce. The horchata is NOT theirs. It's from a mixed powdered bag and tasted horrible. The Pina colada was just blended fruit - it was lacking sugar and coconut cream. All in all, this was not a great experience and the food...

They have variety of foods and a lot of desserts. They have my favorite snack A fruit bowl with varieties of different fruit with Chamoy and tajin with a lime wedge. It’s a very comfortable environment and very friendly service. For the price and how the food and desserts look and presented it’s worth it. It was quite easy to order our food and receive it. They cooked it up quickly in the back. We probably only waited five minutes. It was for to-go. Once we got home and ate our food oh my goodness we could not stop moaning and groaning how good the food...
