Had an awful experience at Taco Clem. I ordered two bowls and one taco at the drive-through. When I asked to add spinach to one bowl and an extra taco at the window, they charged me $29 total which seemed high. I was told to pull up and wait for my food to be made. I opted to go inside and found three bowls ready, explaining the high charge. I explained I only ordered two bowls and wanted spinach added to one. The employee Melissa, insisted that when you ask to add something, they add a whole bowl or taco, not just the ingredient, and you'll be charged for it. I mentioned this was not communicated to me at the window or I would have declined, and Melissa argued with me back and forth being extremely rude, trying to defend her co-worker who took my order at the window. I was not trying to be confrontational; I was pointing out a miscommunication that needs clarification between employee and customer. Melissa then proceeded to tell me she didn't have to refund me, and was extremely rude. To me you are stealing my money when you charge for a whole bowl of food when all I asked for was spinach added to mine then tell me you dont have to give it back. Melissa, needs to be retrained on customer service . This experience has soured my view of Taco Clem, and I'm hesitant to return. If you plan on visiting be sure to not ask to add any extra ingredient to your order or you will be charged for the whole meal. When I got home to eat my food there was hair in my food as well. Of course it's just the icing on the cake. I really hope the owners take this experience serious and address this major issue of...
Read moreI was a tad bit reserved coming into this place. A friend who had been to another one of their locations had a silly nickname for this place that rhymed with "Clem". I wanted to give them he benefit of the doubt. It took them forever to build out this location. It is in an awkward spot in Buda, behind the Starbucks, next to a car wash that has a draining issue with water. My kid and I decide to go in and order breakfast tacos. These are Jalisco style tacos. I liked the fact that the menu was simple and easy to navigate. The gentleman working the register quickly acknowledged us and mentioned he would be right with us. My kid ordered the Chris taco. I ordered the Buda taco. I did ask for a Diet Coke with no ice. As we waited for our food, the gentleman handed us the Diet Coke. I guess he missed the fact that we wanted no ice. We grabbed the bag and headed home.
The Buda taco was huge. Flour tortillas were homemade. The carne guisada had nice size pieces of meat. It was very flavorful. The potatoes were also nicely cooked and the eggs were not dry. My only complaint was I thought the cheese was American and not Cheddar. I realize it is a cost thing, but the taco would have been way better. They did provide us with plenty of salsa. The red salsa was flavorful with the right amount of heat. I am a big fan of the green salsa.
I am not going to nit pick them as they just opened. The prices were reasonable and the service was fantastic. This will definitely be a taco...
Read moreI have had food from here twice. Both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is really delicious and some of the better I’ve had from a quick service restaurant. The chorizo and egg, and the specialty tacos were really delicious! The barbacoa, Al pastor, fajita, asada, are all delicious- along with the specialty tacos with cheese/beef. The birra tacos I’ll never order again. They were expensive and soggy, and on top of that you had to pay a $2.00 up charge for cheese. They lacked flavor and were bland and needed salt. I’ve certainly had better at food trucks and the cheese was included. At $14.00 for 3 tacos it’s overpriced. The first time I went it took forever to get the food, second time it was a little quicker. They stuff your taco compared to other places were you order tacos from- I don’t know if this is standard or due to training, or trying to lure people in after opening. Only time will tell. The tortillas are fresh which is important. Also there is no menu online. They have been open for a month, and the website has not...
