Disappointing Experience with Melt Insurance Promotion
I recently had a very disappointing experience at Baskin-Robbins that I feel compelled to share. Today, I visited a Baskin-Robbins location to take advantage of their "Melt Insurance" promotion, which offers a free one-scoop ice cream if your order melts. I placed my order online and went to the store to pick it up, only to be told by someone who appeared to be the owner that their store was not participating in the promotion and they would not honor the free one-scoop ice cream.
I asked if this was because it was a free order and if I needed to make an additional purchase, like an ice cream cake or another ice cream, to qualify. However, the owner insisted that their store simply wasn't participating, regardless of any additional orders.
I pointed out that if the store wasn't participating, it should not have been an option when I placed the order through the app. Instead of acknowledging this oversight, the owner implied it was my responsibility to call the store ahead of time to confirm their participation. This response left me feeling blamed for something that was not my fault.
To add to my frustration, I inquired whether I could use the promo code at another store. The owner's response was a dismissive, "I don't know." I later discovered that the promo code is a one-time use code, meaning my account shows it as already redeemed, preventing me from using it at a different, potentially more cooperative store.
I always thought these promotions were supported by the corporate office, with some level of reimbursement for participating locations. Regardless, I missed out on my free ice cream because of this store's poor handling of the promotion. Had the app clearly indicated that this store was not participating, I could have gone somewhere else and avoided wasting my time, gas, and energy on this unpleasant experience.
Promotions like these should be a great marketing opportunity for stores, but this location failed to capitalize on it and instead left a bad taste in my mouth. Due to this experience, I have no intention of visiting this store again,...
Read moreI was given horrible service. Came in because I received a scoop for free for my birthday and this guy asked me what kids or regular scoop. So I said regular and when we went to pay he we showed him the coupon he asked if we were paying the difference and I asked what he meant he said the coupons for a kids scoop. We'll the coupon said 2.5 ounces. so I simply asked if anywhere in there menu does it say The ounces by each different sized scoop. He said yes and pointed to the sign that said kids scoop. And I said "I don't see ounces anywhere?" so he looked at me and said " you can go somewhere else." And put in his head phones and started listening to music. He had no name tag but he was a pretty big older guy with facial hair and sounded like he was arab. All I wanted was my birthday scoop not this rude service simply because I didn't know what a 2.5 ounce scoop was. It doesn't say "kids scoop" or "regular scoop" on the coupon. I will be contacting...
Read moreNot very happy with service tonight! Got to the location 10 minutes before closing 8:50pm and standing waiting as another customer arriving same time as with my family of 3, she helps and serves that family of 3 just to turn to us to tell us she’s closed and can’t serve us. We told her it wasn’t 9:00pm yet and she still did not want to serve us. When we asked why is she closing 10 min early she just ignored us. So much for safe distancing she was not wearing a mask nor gloves as serving the family in front of us, nor were the customers wearing masks. Not visiting this location and will be going back to...
