Prior to the pandemic my little brother told me that it had been his life long dream to have his birthday at Shake's, he wanted his name on the outdoor marquee. Unfortunately, in my travels I haven't seen a Shakey's with a marquee. So I went on a hunt to find one...thank you Google Maps!
Next step was to call and ask if they would do it. I had a feeling it was going to be tough, as the images from Google show they use it to promote their sales. PLUS, I was just going to host a small group of people and maybe they had a minimum group requirement.
I spoke to the manager, who stated they didn't do that. I begged a little. He suggested I speak to the General Manager Nensi, who would be in the following day.
I got busy at work and called a few days later, not knowing if Nensi would be in. To my surprised she picked up the phone.
I was ready to tell her about my little brother's life long dream. I was ready to beg, plead, and EVEN pay! She didn't have to know that my "little brother" was a thirty-something year old guy. All that was not necessary, she quickly said yes! I was shocked! Even told me that she would send me the picture of the marquee the night before, which she did! On the day of the party, they even reserved a couple of tables for us!
For a party of 7 we ordered the Large PCM with a peperoni pizza, added another 8-piece fried chicken and medium rustic garlic chicken pizza. It was the perfect amount of food! Had just a couple of leftovers. The family really enjoyed the chicken pizza. They ranted and raved on how moist the fried chicken was and how it was the perfect amount of crispy but not greasy. They even went back two days later to eat more chicken!
The restaurant and restrooms are very clean. The service is specular! Shout-out to Alan, John, and Lolua. They even hooked it up with a cake cutter (I'm sure they use it for pizza) and plastic plates for the cake.
They invited us to celebrate all our birthdays there and they would put our names on the marquee! So if you need a place to host a party come on down! I highly recommend this Shakey's!
It's located right off the 91 FWY, near the 5 fyw. Depending on way you approach it, the parking lot entrance may be a bit tricky to find, although there is a small Shakey's sign. That's really the only down-side. Plenty of parking.
THANK YOU NENSI my brother...

Bunch of Lunch, Bunch of Lunch! It's all about the Bunch of Lunch, Buttmunch! ;p
You won't have trouble finding your mojo here. The mojo potatoes - oily, starchy, blood-sugar raising, fattening. Love 'em! Fried chicken? Bring it on! I'm actually not a big pizza guy, but I do like the pizzas here, with several options available. A salad bar is at the ready to have some semblance of healthy eating. For dessert, cinnamon pizza is awaiting for those with a sweet tooth, but I usually forego it in order to save room for more mojos & chicken.
For Shakey's 60th anniversary, they gave away free slices of either cheese or pepperoni pizza. Who am I not to partake of the celebration? It would've been rude not to ;p Congrats on 60 years in business, Shakey's!
Seating is plentiful. I fondly remember childhood memories of pizza parties held at Shakey's. Lots of TV's to watch the ballgames or the latest episode of a steamy telenovela (or Korean soap opera) ;p
Arcade games for the kiddos & the kids at heart. I dunno, but arcade games are pretty complicated now. Back in my day, we had Afterburner, Rampage, TMNT & TMNT:Turtles in Time & I can't forget the awesome 6-player X-men arcade game. Now, those are classics!
Service has been good the times I've been here. Bunch of Lunch has always been stocked with plenty of food to stuff my face.
Need to fill up for lunch, and don't care about calories or cholesterol? Mozy on down to Shakey's for their inexpensive Bunch of Lunch, loading up on their famous mojo potatoes and other offerings. It won't hurt the wallet and you may have nostalgic memories of...

Update: October 24, 2023 It's been close to 6 months since I've ordered from Shakeys so there's more new workers now than workers that I know. I've been going to this branch for almost a decade. During covid (2 to 3 yrs) I went to Shakeys almost twice a week and spend almost $50 every visit. I almost always order their Happy Hour Specials. I have a yelp review from 2016 lol. I miss the old crew. They knew my order and know my name. So to my surprise when I tried to order about a month ago they didn't know what to make of my order. I don't blame them, let's make that clear. I've always had good to great service from here. But by not knowing my order I felt like they felt I was taking advantage of the business. The only person I know that works there now is Nancy. She's always been great with customer service, very helpful, and gracious. Recently I've met and have been helped by Elia and Victoria. These ladies were also great! I'm sad that some of the workers I knew are not there anymore. They were a great asset to the business. But I'm also glad they have good workers coming in like Elia who is knowledgeable with Shakeys and Victoria who is empathetic, friendly and gives great customer service. It's bittersweet tbh. To all the workers at the BP Shakeys thank you for taking care of my family! Shout out to Michelle, Austin, Kevin, Melissa, Jared and to all the others I forgot to mention....
