Cookies & Cream on Elmwood offers an authentic, nostalgic ice cream parlor experience, uniquely combined with the delight of enjoying freshly baked warm cookies with every order. This establishment is part of the Hook & Ladder Development, started by three Buffalo firefighters dedicated to serving their city and contributing to its revitalization. Their approach focuses on restoring existing structures with salvaged materials and thoughtful improvements, aiming to rejuvenate neighborhoods and create a foundation for a vibrant Buffalo. The menu at Cookies & Cream is extensive and designed to cater to a variety of tastes. It includes a range of hard ice cream, cookies, signature sundae creations, soft serve (with an option for FlavorBurst only at the Boatyard location), 77's (their version of Blizzards), giant cookie sandwiches, ice cream cakes, cookie towers, milkshakes, sundaes, and other novelties. Signature sundae creations offer combinations like chocolate chip cookie with vanilla and hot fudge or a more adventurous Snack Aisle cookie with butter pecan and hot fudge. The soft serve custard comes in vanilla, chocolate, and twist, with kiddie, regular, and large sizes available. The 77's, a nod to Blizzards, come in a variety of flavors including Cookies & Cream, Snicker’s, Cookie Dough, and more. Located at 929 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222, Cookies & Cream operates with the mission of delivering an excellent customer experience, aiming to be a neighborhood gathering place that revives the spirit of community. Their operation hours on Elmwood are from Tuesday to Friday, 3pm-9pm, and Saturday & Sunday, 2pm-9pm, closed on Mondays. Very cute and quaint. ☺️ Good first date spot, or if you just need a spot to get away and decompress for a moment. The sugar cookie is delicious, but the smores cookie is top tier! It's a chocolate based cookie versus your standard tan. The strawberry cheesecake icecream 9/10 Cookies and cream icecream 1000/10 (please try) Cookie dough icecream 8/10 You're allowed to split one scoop of icecream into two types of flavors as well. ☺️ Tap water offered for free to drink. (No ice) Plenty of seating, wheelchair accessible. There's a back patio with extra chairs for larger groups. Gluten free and dairy free options! Only sorbets are offered for dairy free. There's no dairy free icecream options. This would be a 5/5 if more dairy free options were included. I have gone between 5-7pm and it was generally not very crowded, and the people are more quiet. Visited during end of july/early august! Nothing above and beyond for customer service, but the employees are kind and respectful with smiles on their faces. Which is always appreciated. ☺️

Went to Coolers & Cream on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at around 2:00 pm. I believe the temperature was 81 degrees. We walked from where we live on Breckenridge street. When we arrived the line extended outside the entrance door onto the sidewalk. When we made it through the front the line inside was set up like a line at the airport, (zig zag). It took approximately 25 minutes before we could place our order. During this longer than normal wait I was amazed at how well the crowd of people we’re so relaxed. As a matter of fact everyone was in a good mood, (The weather I believe contributed to everyone’s good mood). The employees were working at feverous pace the entire time. They were taking orders, making ice cream cones, ice cream sundae, shakes, you name it, they never slowed down. The Strawberry shake and Oatmeal cookie I purchased was worth the wait. I sincerely hope the employees of Cookies & Cream are appreciated by their employer, I know I do and I gave them a very good tip, they earned it.

I worked here as the store manager for 2 months, I recently quit. The majority of employees are amazing, kind, hardworking people. Product is usually very good. Management is horrible and DOES NOT appreciate the employees, for anyone wondering. Many of the workers are high school students that put up with horrible treatment: short-staffing to cut costs, telling people not to come in just an hour before they work to save money, and sometimes not scheduling people for a full week to keep costs down. They’re given no time to clean or prep and so they are crazy busy doing it all while serving. They often have to stay very late at night to clean/close. Management doesn’t care, they’re exact response was “if they’re not cut out for the job they can leave.” I heard the same complaints from everyone. This business is new and is getting away with treating employees like they aren’t people with lives, worthy of respect. Since one of the owners took over as manager he has brought his son to the location to work - his son has been making twice as many tips as the rest of the workers when they work the same hours. After I left, the Assistant Manager that had been doing way too much for them without any acknowledgement also left right after me though he had worked there nearly 6 months (since they opened).

Please, do not support this business. They need to make serious changes to their management and how they treat their staff. I understand the product is often good but they mismanage much of the business, undervaluing their workers and even not paying their vendors for weeks on end.

I have nothing against anyone at Cookies & Cream apart from the owner that has taken over management. I hope this review is helpful. I am only sharing the truth of my...

Went in tonight and had a disappointing experience. After talking this place up to basically anyone who would listen, I brought my best friend here on a Saturday night. It was 8:30, the line was long, and there were only two people working--they were clearly overwhelmed. We got up to order and they were out of most of their cookies. We were told they only had sugar, oatmeal raisin, kitchen sink, and red velvet left. Disappointing but fine, my friend and I both ordered their giant ice cream sandwiches with sugar cookies. Turns out they actually didn't have enough sugar cookies. After making my friend's, they informed us they couldn't make mine with sugar cookies. I wasn't interested in any of the other cookies they had to offer so I was going to just ask for a refund. After a beat, the worker informed me that they also had macadamia nut (suspicious since that wasn't initially offered). So I get macadamia nut with vanilla ice cream. They scraped the bottom of the barrel for vanilla ice cream instead of just telling me they didn't have enough so there was barely any vanilla ice cream on my sandwich. My suspicions about the macadamia nut were confirmed when I realized the cookies were rock hard. After waiting in line for 30+ minutes and paying $10+ for an ice cream sandwich, I expected more. I understand that the workers were definitely overwhelmed, but the experience was below subpar. The owners need to staff more people on Saturday and clearly need to work on their inventory. Also, perhaps don't sell stale cookies to...
