The miso soup was full of silky tofu cubes and seaweed. The mixed greens salad was generous, as were the size of the rolls and negiri sushi. The menu mentions fugu (blowfish) if you order ahead: About $150 for two. (You're supposed to get just enough poison that your lips tingle; too much, and the nerves enervating your diaphragm are paralyzed. You strangle to death, completely concious. As the poison is colorless and tasteless, even the master chefs occasionally make mistakes. Caveat emptor.) This would be a good place for a first date. There's a cheerful mural the length of one wall of koi; another mural is an ingenue with a yakuza-style dragon tattoo on her back. A full bar supplies the varied drink menu. If you order green tea, your mug comes with a Lipton teabag in it. The lighting fixtures are beautiful, the bathrooms are gorgeous and spotless. We ordered a green dragon roll, a California roll, and omakase sushi. Everything was beautifully prepared and well presented. When we complemented the waitress on the extensive list of sushi (smoked salmon, mackerel, omelet), she said the sister store near the airport had even more types. We plan to...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this location for lunch before headed to the outer harbor for a bike ride, today. We frequent the Depew location and have been meaning to try the new Elmwood location. We had heard great things about this new location. We love Teton and we were not let down. The new location is really nice, the staff, service. And food was excellent. The owner, Taka, was there for a few minutes and he treated us each to a drink on the house. Between my husband and I we ordered: a green salad, black roll, sashimi entree, and spicy tuna roll. Everything was delicious! My husband and I love sushi, as I mentioned earlier we have only been to the Depew location until today, and based off of where we live we go to Wasabi very often, Kunis occasionally. I would say that Teton is the "best bang for your buck"... Wasabi is always consistently delicious, and you can not beat the authenticity and quality of Kunis. I can not wait to come back here and I would highly...
Read moreOkay, their food is very good; but this 1 star comes from service. a few months ago I ordered 4 sushi rolls online and was told to pick up in 30-45 minutes. when I arrived (at the appropriate time) I waited for about 30 minutes until my food was ready. Today (5/2/20) I sent a grub hub order. The order was supposed to arrive in 60-70 minutes. After some time my estimated time of arrival kept getting pushed back. Eventually my grubhub driver called me and said our food was not ready and it would be a while. Another 45 minutes passed and our driver called us again, he explained that this is nothing new with the restaurant and that we would have to wait. We were fine with this (it wasn't his fault); our issue stems from the fact that we waited nearly 3 hours from the time we ordered just to have our order canceled. Our order was canceled at 9 PM during a pandemic. I WANTED to support Teton; but my god. Turn the app off if you can't...
