Good vibe! Thirsty Buffalo has a laid-back and friendly atmosphere with great security at the door and welcoming bar staff and patrons. The prices for local IPAs were a bit high at around $8 per pint, even for a Chicagoan. However, even without trying the food, I could tell that this place has a good vibe and is worth checking out for a fun night out. I would recommend Thirsty Buffalo for a casual and enjoyable drink with friends.

Decent bar. I haven't been in a while and went to check it out with the new ownership. I believe it's all the same staff otherwise. It was pretty busy, which is good to see. Had a few drinks and tried the wings and pretzel bits. The wings weren't great to be honest and I didn't even finish them. The chicken was cooked, but the skin seemed slimy and soft.

Very nice, relaxing atmosphere. Bar service is very prompt and welcoming . The cook Joe makes damn good food, I haven't had anything that wasn't amazing. If you're in the area it's a place to stop in for a drink and some eats.

The only real positive thing I have to say is that it was karaoke night and we had fun because of that. BUT the food was sub par .. fries came out cold and they told us they would put it back in the oven for us to warm it up.. drinks were decent like any other place. But what really ruined our night was when we were severely over charged. I was out with a friend group from work and there was 5 of us and a 6th later in the evening. When I went to close my tab I was never shown my receipt before my card was charged and when they gave it to me and we noticed the error right away the bartender refused to fix it saying ā€œhe’s too busyā€ and to call in the morning to talk to the manager. So I did and got absolutely no where. Was told I would get a call back that day being he was the only one there at the time. Days later never received a call back. Needless to say that was never dealt with and had to dispute it with my bank. I feel this was very unprofessional and handled poorly. I’ve worked in the service industry most of my life and this could’ve been rectified and saved a group of customers from never...

drinks and fries were excellent, sandwiches and (most) burgers were rather bland. they have outdoor seating though, which was nice. place was very clean. noise level inside is at the point where you'd have to raise your voice to be heard from two feet away. bartenders are a mixed bag. some are very good at dealing with people (both the drunk and sober types), and some just seem rather run down with the work, mainly on weekends when it's real busy. had a rather odd experience with the restrooms, though? there isn't anything single-stall or gender neutral, in which case i prefer to use the mens' for the the urinals. but one time, one of the bartenders seemed to become rather upset with me, pointing me off to the ladies' room and yelling "no!" when i tried to ask what was wrong. as expected, the ladies' restroom just had the regular stalls. perhaps they had a long day, but i don't think i've ever had someone be that aggressive with me before about restrooms. edit: i haven't been back here since then. after trying a lot of other places, i can confidently say you can find better food of the same...

So, let's start here. It was New Years Eve, but no excuse. My 3 friends and I got to Thirsty Buffalo about 1:30 am but sober. We walked in the door and tried to get a drink. My Boyfriend went to the bathroom and returned through the atrium section where a bouncer grabbed him from behind and told him it was time to go. He kept saying it over and over but with no reason. I walked up to him and asked very politely what was going on because we needed to get a ride home and he refused to even look me in the eye. He didn't look quite right himself, but in all fairness he probably had a bad night, but there were people in there who couldn't stand and we are almost 30 and straight sober. I told my other friends what happened and to cancel the drinks the bartender told us it was the owner who had kicked him out. He was definitely on something or hammered drunk himself and I'll NEVER go back to that establishment.

I'm not a child and don't expect to be treated as one. Thanks for my 1st visit to your place Thirsty Buffalo, you just lost a...
