I tried this IHOP for dinner because it's been YEARS since I've been to an IHOP. To give you an idea of how long it had been since I've been to one of these restaurants, prior to going to this location in Bullhead City, Lydon Johnson was President during the time of my last visit. This was around 46 years ago.
I didn't really enjoy this experience.
Although I was one of only 2-3 customers in the restaurant around 7 PM, the service was incredibly slow. I stood at the front podium for nearly 5 minutes before being seated. The server who seated me told me that he had been about to go on break ... so kudos for seating me despite this but shame on you for making me feel bad for having imposed on your break time.
It seemed to take forever for a server to take my order. I ordered the fried chicken because I was curious to know what IHOPs non-breakfast meals were like.
It took nearly 30 minutes for my meal to arrive. I'm not sure why it took so long since I was one of the only customers in the restaurant. The chicken was okay if you like twice breaded (extra crispy) chicken.
When I went to the register to pay my bill, the assistant manager looked at my check and observed that I had ordered the fried chicken. Even though I hadn't complained about how long it took for me to receive my order, the assistant manager disparaged the product by telling me that it always takes a long time to fry the chicken. He said that the chicken took a long time to cook because IHOP had to cook the chicken to the proper internal temperature.. He also told me that several customers had previously complained about the heavy breading.
As the chef instructor of a high school Culinary Arts program, I don't think managers should ever disparage their restaurants or their products. This is not good customer service. I also have no idea why the assistant manager felt that I needed to know about other customer complaints.
Although I do enjoy breakfast, I don't see any point in returning to this location given how slow the...
Read moreIf I could do zero stars, I would…we called ahead to ask about the wait time due to being a party of 11. We were told there was no wait. We get there 5 minutes later and they tell us there’s a 20 minute wait. We wait for 45 minutes before being seated. Many other parties showed up and got seated before us as we waited. We then wait about 20 minutes for the waitress to come take our drink order but by that time we had our order ready so we place our drink and food order at the same time. We then watched by as 6 other 4-6 people parties were sat and got their food while we had waited another 20 minutes for drinks and were told after waiting for them that they didn’t have enough ice cream for 5 milkshakes. We had to toddlers crying by this time because they were hungry. I asked the waitress to at least bring out some pancakes for the toddlers. She brought out 2 miniature pancakes. We then decided to leave after watching another party get their full food order. On our way out I spoke to the manager who stated she was sorry and could box our food up for us to go. We told her we didn’t want it anymore and she responded that she wasn’t going to charge us but she didn’t want to “waste” all this food. So we waited just for her (the manager) to come back out with 2 of the kid’s orders because that was the only food of our order that was ready after having we had placed our order 50 minutes ago. This was all beyond ridiculous and the worst experience I’ve ever been threw at a restaurant. The manager was not helpful and so unprofessional. I did not get the name of the manager because she was not worried and name tag. But it was the manager on duty today 5/21/23...
Read moreOur group of 14 went to breakfast at Ihop on Nov 17th at 10:30 at the Bullhead City, Az restaurant. Before I continue let me just say that I had been in the restaurant business for 50 yrs. Started as a server then a cook, a server/ trainer Assistant Mgr and Mgr. of a fine dining restaurant and what I witnessed at Ihop to me was totally uncalled for. First off when my husband and I arrived they made us wait for the remainder of our party before seating us. They do not take reservations as they say that's their policy. I can accept that as many restaurants don't. They wouldn't seat us until all arrived, another of their policies. So we waited in the atrium for the remainder of our party at which time they took us to be seated. They put us all at separate tables and when we asked if we could have the tables put together we were told no ( wait for it, you guessed it )"that's not their policy". Obviously neither is HOSPITALITY. Then there was the food, I ordered the senior 2+2+2 2 pancakes, 2 eggs scrambled and 2 sausage my eggs were overcooked brown to be exact and the food was lukewarm. My husband ordered the senior Rise&Shine eggs, bacon and white toast, the bacon was undercooked and the toast was wheat not white. They server said he would bring the white toast. The hostess delivered it but not until my husband was finished eating our friend shared her toast with him. The server never came back to ask if everything was alright, This restaurant is seriously lacking in making sure that the customers experience is a pleasant one. Needless to say, we will...
