Coral Cafe remains one of the few go-to diners in the Burbank area, with no real competition on any front, given it delivers consistently 24 hours a day.
Most evenings Coral Cafe swells with vibrant energy, the kind of thing reserved only for the best of the diner/cafes with a dedicated clientele.
With a classic Hollywood decor of movie star photos and movie posters, this is not a cafe looking to win design awards, but it has a charm not marred by bad lighting.
The food has a consistent quality with occasional excellence. I can recommend Friday's Daily Special "Salmon Vera Cruz," but order it "without the ocean," meaning it can come a bit too wet, swimming in liquid. This dish shows perhaps the greatest sophistication from the menu in its entirety.
The "Kobe Cheeseburger Deluxe" is a high quality change of pace hamburger, simply made from a better quality hamburger than normally is found in the diner/cafe environment. Is it Kobe? You can tell it's not due to the low price. But it IS better than all fast food, and all but two burgers in the whole of the San Fernando Valley at places NOT open 24/7.
Greek owned and operated, the salads are all very good and can be recommended. I have had and can also recommend the following dishes: most of the Wraps (Chicken Caesar, Grilled Veggie,) Hot Turkey Sandwich (sliced loaf turkey, not fresh, but okay,) the Chicken Tortilla Soup (about the best in town,) Fettucini Alfredo with Chicken, Chicken Almond Salad, Hot Chocolate, fruit pies (the cream pies are... don't bother,) Chocolate Cupcake, and well, much more.
As to service, you have to be in sync with the nature of diners to appreciate it. If you are expecting a constant hovering, multiple servers affair, go to a restaurant at $125 a meal, not $12.50. When the place is in the weeds, as often it is, service slows. So what? Enjoy the atmosphere. For myself, I set up my iPad and wireless keyboard and try to add 1,000 words to my novel per visit. Under this regimen, the service seems rapid, perfect, and peerless. Try writing anything in a posh restaurant, and find out the nature of dollars per minute per guest intolerance.
In all, you can count on Coral Cafe to deliver on a large menu, and having been to the other 24/7 restaurants in town, suffice it to say, go to the Coral to avoid...

The customer service here is good. If you want comfort food 24/7, this is the place to be. What was so pleasing to the eye was the dessert display case right when you walk in. Sadly, I never made it there. I was so stuffed! I had the Rib Eye Steak and Eggs and it was wonderful. The meat was so soft and tender. The hash browns were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It also came with a side of sourdough bread, if you like. I ended up ordering a side of bacon, too.
We also ordered the Breakfast Combo Special. SO MUCH FOOD for both entrees! You get your bang for your buck.
Customer service is so nice here. Our server forgot several things but what can you do with a high volume place such as this one. We gave our server a break because they were in the middle of their "after church/brunch" rush. She forgot our creamer for our coffees and our waters. When she brought our food, she forgot my eggs and forgot to bring the bread for one of our orders. I got my eggs after I asked but she never brought the bread. We didn't think we would need to ask but maybe we should have. Being that she was such a sweetheart, we didn't want to say anything. We saw how busy they were. Respect. Food serving is tough.
Other than that, if you want great comfort food for the price, delicious dessert and just that feeling of home, eat here! I love the fact that they're 24/7, too so definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here repetitively, either with family or friends, and I am never disappointed. There is a fair share of free parking, either on the West side of the restaurant, or behind it, and on Burbank Blvd or the two side streets. I've never had to wait to get a table, as there are plenty of tables and wait staff to keep things moving. The menu is extensive, so there is always something for everyone to find something to choose from, no matter the likes or dislikes, allergies and food restrictions. They accommodate it all. PLUS, you can order anything off the menu, including breakfast, 24/7! That's awesome! I've always been very satisfied with what I choose to order, because the food is always good. The restaurant is always clean, inside and out. They do have tables outside, but I have never chosen to sit out there, because it is quieter to eat inside rather than out on Burbank Blvd. All the employees are friendly and really good at their job. I was invited by a theatre friend of mine after a show that we were working on, & I have invited others since then. Friends whom I have taken there have even asked if we could go back. I highly...
