Hello everybody! I’m all about truth reviews. This one is about my first experience in this establishment.
If I would have write my review right after I picked my food I would have give 1 start just for how terrible the service was. Since I called to place the order I received a pretty “w*f you want” type of attitude… I get it, restaurants gets really really busy so I’m not “scared” by that, but to my surprise I arrived and the place was EMPTY! Yet, the attitude kept coming. I have a specific budget that my job offers me, anything above that I can pay the difference. I don’t know how 2 plates of $18.50 came to be $42.95 but I request to pay the difference in cash, which of course the answer came as a NO with so much attitude and faces! I was concerned and asked the lady at the front desk to give me a second to figure out. After to 2 min she asked me if I wanted to cancel the order… really?!? My face was showing how uncomfortable I was with her tone and right before I could answer back in the same tone, the guy in the back (preparing the food) came to my rescue and allowed me to pay partially cash. (It’s not that it was impossible she just doesn’t know how to use the register then) Yet, somehow I did ended up paying even more. $39.09 + $5 in cash….? I thought my total was $42.95 I usually leave a tip but not this time.
Ps: I worked in the restaurant industry, establishments like this one where seems that I’m begging for food or I get paid to be treated bad are HUGE NO FOR ME
Good luck!
Maybe it was just a once in a while bad day for the team but gosh! I leave without...
Read moreI grew up in tarpon springs Florida The largest Greek community outside of Greece and know what Greek food supposed to be like. I ordered a gyro but they serve there's with lettuce for your common filler so I asked for no lettuce and the girl gave me attitude and says well that's the way it serve, so I had to ask twice no lettuce. the sandwich was served as the poorest example of a gyro I have ever seen. For $19.50 it was very small and they substituted the cucumber sauce which is made from yogurt for sour cream. "Yuck" When I asked the girl did you put sour cream on my gyro? her reply was tahinior cucumber sauce was made with sour cream. No it's made with yogurt cucumber olive oil in a couple other things. they failed to oil and heat up the peta bread and the sandwiches were cold. I had a hankering for a gyro and definitely left unsatisfied and disgusted. This is not how Greek food is served it was poor at best and the attitude of the girls in the register was unnecessary. If you want an authentic gyro or Greek food go to the lighthouse in San Fernando valley off Tampa they are 100% authentic Greek they don't cut any corners and I bet you won't be able to finish their lunch special gyro sandwich. If you see any positive reviews about this restaurant than those people either work for George's or simply don't know what authentic...
Read moreBeen a patron of George's for over 7 years since I have moved to Burbank and always loved it until today. Just went for the first time in roughly 6 months and very disappointed to see the prices have nearly doubled for the lunch deal ($14 to $24) and the quality of service has declined (cashier was actively fighting with a vendor on the phone loudly as I waited for my food and was annoyed with me asking about any lunch specials), leaving me feeling uncomfortable as I waited for my meal that was already 2x the amount it used to be.
Large amount of the menu on the active display screen was blocked out with tape over the screen (?) when it could have just been adjusted internally by a manager for the consumer leaving me confused as to what additional items cost and scared to order any more than what I already did.
Not a regular google reviewer but feel obligated to tell everyone in the neighborhood that George's seems to have dropped in quality and raised in price point as a local that wants to be a customer to neighborhood restaurants. Good luck in the future, will not be returning, will never recommend your establishment to...
