Per the high Google reviews and the hype of this old burien Italian American staple I was really looking forward to eating here. When me and my dining partner arrived around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday night there were only two other tables occupied that I could see and the banquet room was rented out.
We ordered the bruschetta to share, each a glass of wine, pasta a la Angelo as my main & my dining partner a ribeye steak with penne.
They bruschetta was good although massive and difficult to eat because it wason oversized pieces of bread. My pasta dish arrived missing ingredients that were described in the menu. My dining partners steak order was radically different from the menu description. It included a different sauce over the steak, different sides, different pasta.
When we attempted to bring the discrepancies to the wait staffs attention they became immediately defensive, loud, & clearly agitated. They offered to replate our with the correct sides and missing ingredients not remake it. When we refuse that option the wait stuff left and we could hear them loudly complaining about us to the other wait staff.
This was the service we received on a ticket that added up to over $80. We were both sincerely disappointed and will not be coming back. Given that Vince's is just a couple blocks away we are looking forward to trying that for our Italian American...
Read moreWith all that we as "lovers of great food and great service" are trying to navigate with all the regulations, I was so impressed we took my daughter out for her 18th birthday and Angelo's was her pick, we were greeted the moment we walked in seated immediately, staff was taking every precaution wearing masks and separating tables the food was delicious I had prime medallions my husband had chicken piccata my daughter had the ravioli I don't quite remember what my mom and dad had but everyone was happy satisfied and it was delicious no leftovers to bring home when they came with the dessert menu from the creme brulee to the spumoni delicious absolutely delicious we had fabulous service the food was incredible this is a definite must stop for people who love true Italian cuisine, being a retired bartender from the Columbia Tower Club I hesitated slightly on getting a glass of wine because I know in these times where less is less not more is more and sometimes wine can go quickly to the wrong side of the tannins... but I was totally surprised and very happy when my mom's Merlot and my Pinot Noir tasted like it was freshly opened so no fail there all the way around there were five very happy customers with happy tummies filled with delicious made to order...
Read moreHave been enjoying Angelo's for about 3+ decades... was surprised last night when I came in... & no white linen table clothes... nice wood tables no problem but I don't believe I have ever been there when there wasn't a table cloth. Food- is good. Someone wasn't doing due diligence on the Garlic bread (which I love) as they didn't have any slices buttered out to the edges... there was easily 1/3-1/2 inch gap between crust & buttered area. Wine- ordered a liter of house red to share... & the waiter asked if I wanted the Cabernet, the Chianti or another red choice... so I picked the Chianti... however when the bill came, I was expecting the $23 for the house red liter... but was charged $30 for a liter of Chianti which was on the menu in a paragraph above what I intended to order... it seemed a little dishonest to me on the part of the waiter. If I order a liter of the house red... & there is a house red by the liter... to be asked for a specific red that's not the same price without clarifying that... I didn't appreciate that. I will return to Angelo's because it's been a good restaurant that I have enjoyed for literally decades. Last night seemed out of...
