After being heavily disappointed by a Thai restaurant close to my home and dissuaded by bad reviews of the other ones, looking at different reviews brought me to this one, which was a 20 min drive away from my home. I was aching for the really good Thai food I've eaten before so I decided to give it a chance and I am SO SO SO happy I did. A few reasons: I LOVE spicy food and am disappointed with every restaurant I eat at (dining in or take out) as I can either barely taste any or taste none at all every time. Well this time I put in my order "please make it so spicy I cry tears of joy" and BOY DID THEY Not only is it spicy but its also FLAVORFUL TOO! I ordered the Tom Yum with shrimp and Crispy Garlic Chicken and it was everything I'd hoped they be. The chicken filled up the to go plate and stayed crispy after 40 minutes. You read that right: 40 MINUTES. They were ready before I finished getting ready to leave my house and I was worried and DREADING the thought I was driving all that way for soggy chicken but it was still crispy! A review for another Thai restaurant's crispy garlic chicken mentioned it being 10% chicken, 90% batter but I would rate this one as the opposite. Definitely a lot of chicken fully covered in crispy, spicy, a little sweet, garlicky batter on the outside. Oh I am in heaven. I ordered two Thai iced teas thats why its the only before picture. Sorry it's pictures of my leftovers too I couldn't stop once I started and now I'm too full to do anything else but leave this review. Eat here.
Thank you for the food Krungthep, I will...
Read moreMy daughter and I found this lovely restaurant this past summer just before I had shoulder surgery and it has been an outstanding find. Centerally located in Burien we can walk there, which my granddaughters did several times with me while they stayed to help assist in my recovery. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. Service is great, friendly, quick, the orders are always correct and they made helpful comments about food that we were unfamiliar with. One of my granddaughters is vegetarian and my daughter can not eat gluten. They both commented how great it was to be able to find menu offerings for them that were so delicious! I love Thai food and have a hard time choosing which dish to get as I want different entrees but also always want Pad Thai. I also adore their crispy spring rolls with plum sauce. All of that would be way too much food for anyone. However Krungthep solves the problem for me with their lunch specials of an large plate with entree, rice, Pad Thai and a crispy spring roll at a very low price!! All their prices are very resonable. Great food, great service, great prices in a very pleasant environment, what more could...
Read moreWe used to order from them all the time bc we're lazy and they deliver. Then the food started getting sloppy and we had to call back a lot for mistakes. Finally one night they put NO SPICE on either of our pad thai dishes when we specified #4 heat (5 is hottest, I believe,) on the order. We called, they apologized and sent out another order. This was the 3rd time we had to call about something wrong (delivery times, "where's my order? Did you even get it?!" - an hr and a half after ordering) - in less than 6 mos.! Back to the last straw. We had to have them redo that order again, (we only call if the food is inedible. This was inedible.) The "fixed" order was SO spicy we couldn't even get it close to our faces! And my son loves HOT Asian spices. We haven't ordered from them since. I hope they have a new cook! The portions were really large and when it was good it was excellent! I just want my Thai food to taste like Thai food, not some cobbled together noodles and a handful of...
