A Royal Treat at Mawada Restaurant - Embodiment of Culinary Excellence
My experience at Mawada restaurant was nothing short of exquisite - a grand feast for the senses, combining fine dining with the heart of traditional, authentic fare. In an era where authenticity is hard to come by, Mawada has seamlessly woven true tradition with a modern dining experience, resulting in a harmonious symphony of flavors and atmospheres.
Right from the first bite of the Sultani, I was transported. This distinctive dish masterfully combined a charbroiled fine meso kabob, juicy lamb, and Smokey chicken bread seared and marinated to perfection. The flavors were outstanding; they simultaneously whispered of time-honored cooking techniques while boldly declaring an innovative twist. The way the spices mingled was a testament to the chef's skills, not overpowering, but rather, lifting each ingredient to its prime. The lamb was tender and succulent, the meso kabob was beautifully charbroiled, while the Smokey chicken bread was an absolutely delightful surprise - it added an element of warmth and depth to the dish, creating a balanced and vibrant palette of flavors.
In the sphere of customer service, Mawada stands unrivaled. The staff were not only proficient and professional but also genuinely friendly. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they offered suggestions that were perfectly attuned to our preferences. The service was efficient and unobtrusive, adding to the overall tranquility and high standard of the dining experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant also deserves a special mention. It managed to be both comfortable and elegant, creating an environment where one could appreciate the nuances of the culinary journey laid out by the chefs.
Mawada restaurant is an extraordinary place that serves not just a meal, but a culinary experience embedded in culture and taste. It is a shining beacon in the realm of gastronomy. The restaurant impresses with its thoughtful balance of traditional and modern, with impeccable service and, most importantly, an array of exquisite, intricately flavored dishes that will leave you craving for more.
I would highly recommend Mawada to anyone seeking not just a meal but a memorable dining experience. Mawada offers a little bit of culinary magic, and it's that magic that will bring me back, time...
Read moreI’m usually very spectacle about trying new places, And I never write very good reviews unless I have tried the place multiple times to be sure I’m not setting anyone up for disappointment, I have now tried Mawadda Cafe (In Burien/Burien location) multiple times. And I loved it. The food was delicious and wait times vary for business, I’ve seen in many peoples reviews from many different restaurants giving low rating and bad reviews because of service or wait time without putting consideration into how busy they are, which is why I went multiple times and still every time the food was delicious, never disappointed. Though they were busy a few of the times I went the man I spoke to was very kind which was also a plus. I really recommend this place! Especially if you like Mediterranean food. So delicious!
(update I came back to check if I already reviewed this place because I went again and it was great but I noticed alor of these bad reviews are about an experience with the lady but the man who works here (the owner) was very kind and has small talk with me and the other customers there, I’m sure these bad reviews just caught them on a bad day, and as someone who’s family owns a resturant, prices are rising because so are the ingredients, and finding employees is very hard. So have some mercy people! maybe try a place twice before u rate it zero stars as it’s very hard for my own parents and I notice it with many other family owned business and...
Read moreSeveral years ago I lived a few blocks from the Mawadda cafe just off Rainier Ave. I had several amazing meals there and very much miss it. As you would imagine, I was SO excited when I discovered they have a sister restaurant. Perhaps my high expectations contributed to my feelings of total disappointment. The food was messy and the flavors were off- balance. The lamb shawarma was tough, completely overcooked, and the veggies were shriveled black bits. The rice was oily and underwhelming. The hummus had too much tahini, and not enough everything else. The baba ghanoush was oddly sweet, not roasty or smoky at all. The expensive mango yogurt drink turned out to be a commercial, plain yogurt beverage. Two of the things that stood out to me in the past when I ate Mawadda in south Seattle were the spicy garlic sauce, and the perfectly sweetened house chai tea. I ordered a side of garlic sauce, and my meal came with 2 cups of sauce(tzatziki?) that reminded me of cheap ranch. The chai was equally lack- luster, like they used half the spices and completely forgot the sugar. The saving grace of the meal was the foul medemus, a saucy fava and garbanzo appetizer seasoned with cumin and olives, rather tasty. I cannot speak for their service, I got my meal to go during 'rona. I will...
