Last night was the first time I was there and I live close to the restaurant. The place was half full of patrons. I have heard nothing but good about this place. It was my husband, our daughter and myself. We each ordered different items. The glass of water my daughter got was broken and leaking on the table, no problem because they fixed it quickly. We got our appetizers and they were great. The Pho my husband ordered came and so did the curry fried rice our daughter ordered. My food didn't come. People who sat down after us and ordered after us got their food before my plate came. My husband asked about my plate and they came back 5 minutes later with my plate, however it was the wrong stir fry. I ordered the seafood stir fry and they brought me the veggie stir fry. They said they would take half off for my dish (I didn't see the final bill, but my husband said they really didn't). I ate my dish no problem but I almost left the place after there was a cockroach crawling on our table. My husband told the lady, whom we are guessing was the owner, and we continued to eat there. After all is said and done, I would recommend this place for their good food but I would suggest they really do a deep clean on...
Read moreThis place is amazing to me. Not the typical westernized versions of Asian food. I can speak for the Chinese part of things most because the noodles really do remind me of the kind you get at noodle houses in China. They have real Chinese hot sauce too, a spicy chili paste (lajiao jiang 辣椒酱). The special fried rice is huge and always hits home for me. The stir fry beef noodles are also huge, so sweet and garlicy/spicy and addictive I was inspired to concoct a homemade version. The lemongrass chicken is also a must try. I'm not the hugest pho fan so haven't tried their pho or soup but looks really good. Everything decently priced under $15. They give you a delicious fish sauce for the eggrolls (also yummy and only $1.25 each) without asking which I like. So lucky to live 2 minutes from here! Some people I've seen comment badly on the interior/facilities; maybe it doesn't bother me because I lived in China and I don't care because the food speaks for itself. Bottom line, in gentrifying Seattle I'm just grateful there still exists such a charming, homey and authentic place like this that truly reflects the neighborhood character, with excellent quality of food and...
Read moreI was willing to overlook the fruit flies accumulated at the bottom of the vinegar because the food was delicious. Today however is the last meal I'll have there after the manager (?) argued with me about charging double for a fried dumpling dish. My son accidentally spilled his entire water glass on them within seconds of them arriving at the table. They were swimming in water and ice. She came over and looked at the dish and I said the dumplings got soaked to which she replied, "So?" and walked away. When she came back, I asked if they would bring a new dish of dumplings and she was clearly annoyed. The funny thing is that I paid before realizing they had charged me, and I had tipped her more than the cost of the entire dish. When I asked about it, she said it was my own fault and if I didn't like it,...
