AmThai By Kanjana is hands-down one of the best Thai dining experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, every dish was prepared with care, cooked to perfection, and bursting with authentic flavor. We started with the chive dumplings. Crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside, with a dipping sauce that brought everything together beautifully. The Tom Kha Chicken was comforting and aromatic, with just the right balance of coconut, lemongrass, and lime, rich, tangy, and soul-warming. The Beef Noodle Soup was hearty and deeply flavorful, with melt-in-your-mouth beef and a broth that could be its own course. The Pad Prik Pow brought bold flavors, tender protein, and perfectly stir-fried vegetables. The Crispy Duck Krapow stole the show. Crispy skin, juicy duck, and that fragrant holy basil punch. The Soft Shell Crab was expertly fried and paired with a sauce that elevated its natural sweetness. Both the Panang Curry and Green Curry were out of this world, creamy, layered with spice, and packed with complex, comforting flavors. The Kha-Na Moo Krob had the perfect textural contrast of crispy pork belly and tender Chinese broccoli, bathed in a savory, umami-rich sauce. For dessert, the Thai Donut and Fried Banana were golden, crunchy, and sweet, totally addicting. And of course, the Mango with Sticky Rice was flawless, sweet, ripe mango, warm sticky rice, and that luscious coconut drizzle. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch, attentive, kind, and thoughtful throughout. The restaurant’s ambiance is elegant and cozy, creating a lovely backdrop for an unforgettable meal. If you’re in Burke or even remotely nearby, this place is an absolute must-visit. A hidden gem that deserves all the praise.

During our recent visit to this Thai restaurant, we found the overall dining experience quite satisfying. The restaurant's interior was tastefully decorated with a garden theme, featuring fresh flowers on each table, walls adorned with artificial grasses and flowers, dry flowers, artificial birds, and various design objects. The modern and trendy lanterns and birdhouses added a nice touch to the ambiance. The food at the restaurant was flavorful without using too much sauces. We particularly enjoyed the Kha Nom Jeeb, which had a densely packed filling inside the dumpling, and the flavor was not overpowering. The clear broth-based light soup Thai wonton soup was a good choice for the gloomy weather. From the Highly Recommended menu, the Talay Obb Mor Din, featuring seafood and ginger, and the Guay Tiew Kua-Kai, similar to Pad See Ew but without the smoky taste, were both delicious. Although the dishes were delightful, we did notice a presence of MSG in the food, prompting frequent water consumption. We found the service satisfactory, and we appreciated the provision of a hot sauce tray to enhance the flavor of our dishes.

Based on great reviews I decided to try Am Thai yesterday. The service was excellent and the atmosphere inviting, clean and bright. The appetizer was great (firecracker shrimp), shrimp tightly wrapped in beautiful thin and crispy exterior, served with a lovely sweet chili sauce. Just perfect! It made me quite excited as I awaited the main course…which sadly tasted and looked quite the opposite of the appetizer. I ordered stir fried eggplant, basil and beef. It tasted far from anything Thai, basil, flavorful or appealing. Sadly it was a plate of disappointment doused in a sweetish heavy brown sauce. I hope that lovely little places like these don’t feel obliged to alter their authentic food to appease to common taste. You have a good set up, Am Thai, hope you bring back the authentic taste of home to your restaurant ❤️

I was going to order the panang curry but saw a picture of it and thought that doesn't look very good which in hindsight should have been the end of this review. Unfortunately, I went to google and saw 4.8 stars and thought, well maybe it's better than it looks. I couldn't get over the sight of the panang so I decided I'd go for drunken noodles and ordered them "less spicy". I wouldn't say I am an expert on Thai food, but I have had my share and usually order a handful of the same things. Not only was this one of the worst tasting drunken noodle dishes I have ever had, if not the worst, it was melt your face off spicy. So either, someone misread "less spicy" and put extra spice and still wrote "less spicy" on my dish container, or regular / extra spicy would have killed me. I actually like spice and usually handle it just fine, but this was on another level. The worst part is it didn't even taste good to warrant suffering through that much pain. I am giving it two stars because the spring rolls weren't bad, but the dipping sauce wasn't great. My wife's pad thai that she ordered medium spice was actually milder than my "less spicy" drunken noodles, so go figure. I'd recommend ordering from somewhere else, or just avoid the drunken noodles...
