Khans Halal (Chicken - Burger & Deli) — Restaurant in Burke

So today was our first time trying this new burger spot. We ordered 2 Bashers (double smash burgers) and 1 Stinger (crispy chicken burger) Pros: The spot was easy to find and people inside were very friendly. The burgers were big and filling. Cons: The people making the burgers didn't use any gloves! Why? Both burgers were TOO SALTY to enjoy 😞 My husband and I could not enjoy it at all and felt very sick afterwards. Way too much sodium was ingested. The chicken burger was crispy and tasted good but the bread holding it fell apart completely.

My sister and her husband made another order of 1 Basher and 1 stinger. My sister said her burger was too salty as well. My husband, my sister and me suffered from headaches, nausea and bloating for the rest of the night.

This was a huge disappointment as we invested our time and money and received 3 salty burgers: $41.97 ($13.99 each) but owner will compensate for only 1 burger when we spent a total of 59.95(3 smashers and 2 stingers)... 😞

A message to the owner: If you want to understand what a good burger is please eat a burger at Krave Shack and compare it to the burgers you guys make. Then you will understand quality. Also the price, the flavor, the quality at krave is so much better than at Khans Halal. I'm sorry to write this negative review but there's so much halal food options that there's no room for mistakes like making a burger too salty to eat or not using gloves. Omgoodness I'm over the 🌝 to have found this gem! It's open fairly late for NOVA standards (I appreciate that very much) and the food (burger, fries, and a decadent Blondie bar) were delicious. I am specific about what I will/won't eat and when it comes to meat it must be either organic grass-fed beef or halal. Khan's offers halal options on all their meat selections (confirmed when I called in to place my order). They were patient and accommodating and attentive as I asked about the selection and specified my dietary restrictions and preferences. I didn't expect to be blown away, and was just grateful to have found an option serving clean food at that time of night. I was surprised to find the burger to be delectable, fries flavorful and just the right texture, and omg the dessert I have not stopped thinking about since my visit last week. I knew I wanted something sweet and asked the person helping me what they recommended out of the options; they all looked delicious and freshly baked. He enthusiastically responded with his favorite and I completely get his hype over that smoothy gooey yumminess. It was amazing and I will return for more. I highly recommend this spot. Hidden Gem Alert! You need to eat here! I want to tell you about a little place you may not have heard of in Burke: Khans Halal. I have had take out twice, and this little shop deserves more publicity than it is getting.

It's a tiny place - there are tables but you probably want to take it away. The staff are very friendly. The menu is extensive. My orders came out in 10 minutes, made to order, hot and fresh.

I had a crispy chicken sandwich and on my last visit - THE BASHER - a double patty smash burger. The fries were just right, very crispy and hot. Let me tell you - all was fantastic. Much better than a fast food drive thru.

Now let me tell you a secret. The portion sizes are GIANT! You can easily share a meal with you partner. Khan probably doesn't want me to say that, so you should order like you normally would, but you could eat half and have the rest for lunch the next day. Definitely got my money's worth.

So next week I am going back for another round. I'm thinking pizza, or the spicy chicken shawarma! Do yourself a favor and come here, too. We need to support this place to keep it in business. Quality gems are rare...
