I swear to God this place owes me $20 and is cursed. I've eaten here twice and both times the food took way too long to come out. Most recently: Took 5 minutes to be seated while employees walked by us. This was at about 8pm when there were almost no guests in the dining room, so there were plenty of open tables. Our drinks were slow to come out. Then when we finally got the chance to order it took easily 15 minutes for the food to be done. I dont know if this is the wait staff's issue or the kitchen. I knew when the food was done because I saw it pop up on the shelf to be taken out. Problem is, I also got to watch my food sit there for another 10 minutes. At 8pm on like a Tuesday. There were maybe two other tables seated, it wasnt busy enough for food to be sitting around. Maybe it was a social experiment, I really did almost get up and grab the food myself, maybe it was a test. I dont know. I know that I asked for the check and a to go box as soon as I got the food because we'd waited almost half an hour since ordering. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't asked for the check right away I would have had to ring everything up and print the check myself.
The guy at the register asked how everything was and I told him we waited way too long, he just gave me a few excuses. I should have made him comp the meal, we didnt get a moment of good service at this place. I guess I was hoping he would comp something. Mig bistake.
But yeah honestly forget the service entirely, bad service at an IHOP isnt the biggest deal right? Yeah well joke's on you this place costs more than other ihops. The ownership is different from others so the owner has raised the prices here. I've been to a lot of ihops and I've been to a few pretty regularly and I have never had such bad service. The first time I went here the service was also bad, everything was slow, but I guess I didnt spot my food sitting out that time so I had no idea why it was slow. I know that the IHOP in falls church has never screwed me like this place, and is cheaper. I know that the IHOP in fairfax on Blake lane has never done me this dirty either and is also cheaper.
I wish I could go back in time to find the owner, or who ever is responsible, and bully them throughout their middle school years. Would that help? At least it'd be worth 20$ to me.
I would egg this place but I bet they'd scrape the egg off and fry it up for ya the next morning.
Yeah so that's the story of this stupid IHOP, I wrote it nice and long in case you're reading it while you wait for your food to come out. Good...
Read moreFor Muslim folks, this was a great place to go for Suhoor/Sehri meal during Ramadan (pre fasting meal before sunrise, when our fasting starts, for those who don’t know what that is and Ramadan is a religious holiday, when we fast and focus on our worship, charity, working on ourselves etc. for 30 days). SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to Leo, one of the servers that helped us out. He went above and beyond, he was also super friendly and professional. I had to leave a review just for him.. he was even apologetic for the delay (we didn’t even say anything, how thoughtful of him). IHOP GIVE HIM A RAISE!! I did not expect that from ihop.. a chain, usually staff is rude and can’t be bothered, don’t blame em. It was really considerate for some ihops across the nations to include Muslims with their halal menu (meat prepared in a certain religious way/like kosher for Jewish people) We got there around 4 AM, it was pretty busy but we got seated right away. Our order took a few minutes to be taken, completely understandable since it’s busy. We ordered the chicken fajita omelette, Nutella and banana crepes, Mango splashers, halal Turkey bacon, chicken and waffles, hash brown and scrambled eggs. Food came out way before fasting time started and we had plenty of time to eat. It was absolutely delicious, it was really nice that we finally got to try the meat items since we usually cant (since it’s non halal). Staff was pretty nice. There was another server or host, could be manager. She wasn’t wearing a uniform, that also served us. She was also friendly as well. The customer service and quality food made this the best ihop...
Read moreI eat here quite often. It was one of my favorite places to take my kids. The prices are right, the service has always been good, except today. Today I decided to come here with my boyfriend for a nice breakfast. I tried something new, it was the chicken biscuit with gravy. Amazing, now for the sides I chose fries and fruit. However, Everytime I come here I let them know that I'm allergic to melons. They always cut me up bananas and such to put in a little bowl for me Everytime. I told the waitress that I was allergic to melons and told her that they usually cut me up bananas etc. Well, today I was eating my bowl of fruit and in the bottom of the bowl was a little green piece of honeydew melon. I spoke with the manager and he took care of the meal. To be honest, I didn't finish eating and we both left. But I can't help but feel like that it was done on purpose. I have never been a rude customer, I have never sent food back and I always tip more than the typical 15%. That wasn't okay at all. You took a place where I felt safe enough to take my family to and made it to somewhere that I now feel like tried to murder me. I have been taking my kids to IHOP for years. We moved here from another state about a year ago and I kept that tradition alive. We have always loved IHOP, but today was not okay. And I will not be coming back because of the carelessness of the person who made my food. Thankfully I saw it and didn't eat it. My advice to anyone who decides to come here, don't. They clearly don't have your well-being at heart. It saddens me to write this post, but it's time to find a new...
