I rarely write negative reviews towards a restaurant especially post COVID. I understand that there is a talent and workforce shortage in every sector of business. However, my experience with Jings Sushi in Burlington, NJ was the worst restaurant and client serv relationship in my 45 years as a sushi connoisseur. Recently, I ordered Sashimi Regular for $22.95 and a few rolls with fried rice. The rolls were dry and bland and the fried rice was more like Mexican rice when you order a fajita. There was zero flavor and the food was cold.
The sashimi was the worst. The cuts of fish were so think (see photos) where you could actually see the veins of the fish. It was as if the chef cut the fish with a butter knife. The think was of sashimi is a sin in the world of top notch sushi. Most concerning was the fish was not fresh. Fresh fish is NOT dry with HARD corners similar to a 3 day old refrigerated sushi. The tuna was dark so dry and also had significant veins in it.
When I spoke with the owner, he wanted me to bring in the fish to inspect it before returning my money. He never returned my money. He offered to return $22 for the sashimi but no for the other food. What he failed to realize is that customers love the experience of dining and sushi. If I just want to fill my belly, I would have and should have gone to a Chinese place.
I urge you to never frequent this place. Shame on me for trying something like this. It is not like Mikado in evesham/Marlton. That place is the epitome of consistency and class.
Never go to this place. It’s like getting sushi from shop rite or a buffet where the fish is sitting for days. And they they think that they can hide the freshness with extra soy...
Read moreComplete waste of my time and lack of professionalism on their part! I went on my lunch break to get 6 sauces (2 eel sauce 2 spicy mayo and 2 yum yum sauce) first of all they’re supposed to be open at 11 I arrive at 11:05 and the door is still locked so I call and the lady answers I ask why the door is locked she says they’re still setting up if I wanna place an order I can over the phone… I say ok and proceed to order 6 sauces she says they’ll be ready in 5 min and then gives me directions to the place after I folder her I was standing outside I then reiterated I was standing outside the locked establishment and she says ok thank you and that’s it… while I’m standing out there someone who is working (a man)comes to the window smiles at me and walks away this made me even more mad and I contemplated leaving but I said maybe they’ll come open the door soon I proceed yo wait another 10min before calling back to see if my order is ready the lady says it is and I can go pick it up I reiterate AGAIN that I’m there and still locked out she then puts me on hold for 1 minute or so only to come back and say their chef is running late and that I can’t get inside or my order until he gets there so I was pissed off by then and hung up on her she calls back to see if I still want my order and I expressed my frustration with how everything was handled she had no compassion for anything or how poorly handled the smallest of orders were.. My company spends ALOT of money with this place but not any more! I’ve already told my management team and everyone who works at my job to not order from there anymore… Definetley a unnecessarily weird and...
Read moreThis was my 1st time inside in April and it was recommended by my son's friends. Upon arrival I was greeted by 2 hosts and given a menu and told for dining in " no waitress ,but feel free to sit wherever I want and come backup to the front when I'm ready to order" It wasn't crowded and the pick up was non stop with orders.
The menu is very extensive and the prices seem very reasonable my son and I both were trying to decide what we were gonna get straight sushi or do the full dinners .
We've been decided what we both wanted and my son went up front and you pay when you order.
As we waited for our food we watched various sporting events on t.v and across the room was the live chefs making sushi 🍣 . I began to hear a sneeze, then a cough, and someone blowing their nose 👃 😤 right in front of the food ! He had gloves ( I think ) but no mask 😕 and he didn't go to remove himself from prepping food ! I then saw him rub the residual of his nose blowing onto the sleeve of his shirt 👕 😒 and by then our food arrived to our table!. I wasn't as hungry and had prayed he did not make my son's sushi but the other chef perhaps did. Not sure if it was allergies ,but he needed to get that 🤧 checked out before being around open food!. I may go back not sure ,but the food was fresh and delicious 😋. I had miso soup and fried rice 🍚 with salmon. My son had spicy crab roll and shrimp fried rice with vegetables. A lot of food all under...
