I visited this establishment on 01/28/23 with my husband and son. Waited less then 5 minutes to be seated and about 10 minutes for waitress to come to our table, my husband and I always get the same thing so I proceeded to ask waitress if it was ok if we went ahead and ordered everything she said yes and so we did. She brought us drinks 10 minutes after that. 15 minutes later she brought my husband and I our food but not our sons(at this point nothing was wrong, time seemed reasonable). Husband and I waited to eat thinking my sons food would be brought out soon. 15-20 minutes went by and still no food, the whole time I saw our waitress speaking to a table near bar area, when she came near I said "Excuse me, we're still waiting on my sons food?" (7:48pm) she replied "listen we are short staffed and I already went to check on your food, when its done I'll bring it out!" (in very rude tone), I said "ok thank you" and continued to wait. Another 15-20 minutes went by (8:08pm), and the waitress was talking to the table beside us after she was done I waved her down and said "excuse me, could we please get 2 to go boxes and I no longer want my sons meal" and she replied "so you don't want his meal no more?" and rolled her eyes, I replied "no it's fine". According to her it wasn't ready so I didn't see what the issue was. She brought us the check, bag & to go boxes 8 minutes later. At this point we were just ready to go. my husband got up and the waitress saw us getting up and walked straight to us and asked "are you ready to pay?" my husband replied "yes" and held check and card up. she replied "I can take you at your table then" and then ignored my husband and walked to table next to us and began taking their order. I walked up to another waiter who seem to be near the soda machine and said "excuse me is there any way I can pay up here?" he replied "No, your waitress has to take it, who's your waitress?" I replied and pointed "the young lady right there" he said "ok I'll go let her know". He approached her and told her and she looked at us and replied to him "I had already told them!" After that she took the check and walked to the monitor where they charge you. the other waiter came back to me and said "you can go stand behind her, she's getting it done now" and so I did. She finished and gave me the check, as I was signing she stared at me and after she treated us like that for no reason I did not feel the need to leave her a tip we didn't even eat. I handed her her copy and kept mine, as I was walking away she yelled "if you weren't going to leave a tip you shouldn't have signed it" I did not turn back but was very angry at the fact she still felt like she deserved a tip after how she treated us. I will not be returning to this establishment in Burlington again.
(I HAVE WORKED AS A WAITRESS AND I UNDERSTAND THERE IS GOOD AND BAD DAYS BUT THIS WAS VERY POOR SERVICE, AND NO ACCOUNTABLILTY FROM THE WAITRESS. AND EVEN ON BAD DAYS I STILL MANAGE TO TIP WAITERS BECAUSE I UNDERSTAND THAT IS HOW THEY MAKE THEIR LIVING BUT...
Read moreI have been a customer for over 15 years. I moved up to Burlington two years ago and what a different experience. I get very close to the staff wherever I go and they are what makes a place feel like home. Ever since I have gone here it was the same. I hate when I see staff working so hard to make money, and the facility is run poorly. Running poorly is an understatement at this Burlington location. not only have I ever seen management not come on the floor for a rush, but I have also seen the employees get crushed. I have never walked in without having to ask for a game to be televised as it should be, tvs only updated when u ask. that’s okay.. compared to the facility. this facility has had its front door broken for over 8 months, and the urinal in the men's bathroom for longer. I have been in and the entire draft system has been down for over a week, all tvs down for over a week. the monthly beers when they go on special out the day they start. I have questioned lower management about the issues and found that they have no control. I have expressed my concerns and told them that there is no way the GM is doing her job. so I walked in one day with my 80-year-old dad and the bartender told me I left without paying for a 5-dollar beer, this was after I had paid 80 for the tab with my parents, I guess I went to the bar to watch a game and a friend said let’s go somewhere else. I said okay, I am sorry just add it to tonight’s tab, or here is my card. so all is good and 5 minutes later this guy comes out with tab in hand holding it outright proceeds to tell me the story, I am laughing saying all is good, he says you think it’s funny and of course I do.. it was five dollars, plus it was taken care of. he proceeds to get attitude in front of whole bar and I ask him is this a joke it’s an oversight of 5 dollars. I stated prior to that 5 I had an 85-dollar tab, as I do every Tuesday. I said are you going to ban me and he said yep… I am still kind of shocked that I am not being punked. he gets really rude and says that u can leave. I proceed to let him have it with the whole facility and leave. I have been gone for months and they are losing over an average of $ 150 A week from my parents and myself. This facility definitty looks like it couldn’t lose one customer. Funny how a kitchen manager only comes out to discipline a good customer but is never there for their...
Read moreWent here for a date night with my boyfriend for a drink and some food. We go there on a Saturday around 11:30 12ish. The hostess was really nice and directed us to the bar. When we sat down it took the bartender Lindsay ten minuted to greet us and it sure wasn't with a smile on her face. We put in our drink orders and then was ask to see our IDs. I was then told I could not be served, not because I was under 21 but because I did not have a NC drivers license ??? I had a NY state permit which was valid and stated I was well over 21. She said it was "illegal" to serve to me. Which is ridiculous because the drinking age is 21. I've never heard any rules other than to be of age. But then she asked if my boyfriend still wanted the drink. Like are you freaking kidding me ??! So we walk away to take our business somewhere else the hostess asked if everything was okay and I told her what the bartender told me. Her and the waitresses look confused because they've never heard that rule before either. So a manager was called and I seen him go in the back with the bartender and I guess get her side of the story. He then came 10 minutes later and asked to see my ID not what my concern is and state they where only allow to accept all forms of NC identification but IDs from other states had to be a drivers license because out of state IDs are easier to be "fake" or duplicated ?? Be in mind they are right by a highway and should get travelers all the time. To refuse someone a drink because the are from here does not make any sense to me. People rarely drive in NY and the chance of getting someone in there with a NY license are very slim. They must have had some legal issues with this before but I wouldn't refuse patrons. They need to get the ID checker if its really that big of a deal where your refusing people. Bottom line this is to let all out of town people without a license DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO GET A DRINK ! I will be in touch with the manager to Joe about this issue. Hopefully he can better explain this for me because the manager I spoke with seemed to not know what he was doing nor talking about. Even of he resolved it I feel like the bartender would've watered down my drink or something. Also they're the only BWW that has this rule. Literally never going back. Went to Applebee's and gave...
