I am honestly done with this place. I have been supporting evermore since they first opened many years ago and throughout the pandemic, where they operated out of their window and even utilized their workspace when that was a thing. I appreciated their work, quality and passion for coffee. But ever since the owners started to no longer be present, step away, hire staff in their place and focus on expansion of their business, their shop and the experience has just gone way way down.
I feel like there is always new staff every time I am there which signals high turnover. The staff is very rude and the indifferent to customers. Iâve felt that the woman manager? (not Lauren, the owner) was only nice to certain people even though there was a point in time where I used to go there regularly. They are in general so rude and it feels like customers are a nuisance to them unless one of their friends walk in. Sometimes I would question why Iâm still going there but maybe it was because I had good memories of their shop during their first couple years and used to enjoy talking to the owners. Now the coffee is just made in a very haphazard, rushed and honestly half as*ed way. There used to be a very community type vibe and passionate feel about their drinks and atmosphere which no longer exists.
The new location that they moved into is very nice from a visual perspective but thatâs about it. The staff seem like they donât want to be there, are rude, donât want to answer any questions or even try, and are not knowledgeable at all about the nuances of their food, beverages or coffee. Itâs very disappointing to see how this place went downhill so much throughout the years. I keep on giving a chance after chance after chance because itâs one of the few places in the area that are craft and that focused on the nuances and quality of coffee. But I just cannot do it anymore after so many negative experiences.
I know that the owners are running a business and theyâll probably want to ensure that they grow and do well but I think that the experience and quality of their product / experience has definitely veered away from their core when they first started out and I cannot support that any longer. I just recently went there to get a cappuccino, and the staff, of course was rude and gave me hard time when I said I wanted to get it for here. They want to force you to get it in a to go cup so they donât have extra dishes to wash. This happened to me before once as well where the staff only was giving out to go to cups and not ceramic because they were just too lazy to have to wash the dishes after. You have to almost fight to get it in ceramic to drink in shop. They also were too lazy to even do any latte art (photo attached) and the cappuccino was hot and on the bitter side. Itâs really just a frustrating and disappointing and Iâm no longer going to be supporting...
Read moreThis is hands down one of my favorite coffee shops in the entire country and thatâs saying a lot because Iâve been to so many all over the US. I literally cross a bridge and pay a toll just to get here, and itâs worth it every single time.
Everything they serve from the coffee and teas to the food and pastries is high quality, delicious, and fairly priced. They also have a great selection of merchandise and products you can take home. Iâve even purchased some really cute plants from here that have been thriving for monthsâmaybe even close to a year now. The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always makes you feel right at home. Their rewards program is awesome too, which is just a bonus on top of an already amazing experience.
What really makes this place special though is the strong sense of community and belonging. Itâs truly for everyone. Iâve seen bikers, moms, dads, working professionals, students, artists, seniors, people of all races, cultures, and interestsâbookworms, sci-fi fans, you name itâand somehow, everyone blends together effortlessly in this warm and welcoming space.
The indoor atmosphere is cozy with unique artwork and cool aesthetics, and if you want some fresh air, you can sit outside by the water and enjoy the view. Itâs peaceful, inclusive, and just radiates good vibes. They even offer an after hours menu with speakeasy style food and drinks that are just as amazing.
Whether youâre looking for a solo coffee break, a spot to catch up with friends, or a place to bring your family, this coffee shop has something for everyone. I truly canât...
Read moreGreat place for a light breakfast while working!
I had been meaning to stop by here for a while after hearing all the great reviews online. This cafe definitely didn't disappoint! I got the avocado toast with an iced chai latte. The presentation was stunning as the colors really popped to show how fresh the ingredients were. For a more seemingly upscale cafe, the $10 price for the avocado toast seemed reasonable: the great size and taste also made it worth the price. I've had slightly better iced chai at other places, but this may have been because I experimented with whole milk (so the drink had a bit of a heavy feeling). At least the glass the drink came in was cute!
When I entered, I was a little worried about how crowded/loud the cafe seemed, especially since the overall space seemed very tight. Thankfully, I was able to get a table on the quieter side of the cafe so I could block out the noise. The speedy wi-fi and accessible outlets were great benefits too! My only complaint was that the quieter area is by the bathroom, which is not an ideal placement. Beyond that, the rest of the seating is by the front door/register, so this couple with the influx of loud groups made options for quiet working limited. To be fair, I did visit on a Sunday around brunch time, so this is probably one of their busier times.
Overall, I would definitely come back, probably during the week when it's less crowded (I'm guessing). I also want to try so of their...
