This restaurant exceeds my expections by a lot. The food, service, and atmosphere is fantastic and all around a great dining experience. I grew up going to the Newton location, I’m happy to see they’ve expanded.
They give complimentary soft flatbread sticks with marinara to start off. We got the Prosciutto & Honey Flatbread as our appetizer and that was delicious. The flatbread looked so good that the table next to us could not keep their eyes off it. It was delivered warm and we got plenty of cheese pulls from it.
Entrees - I got the Beef Ragu Pasta because I was enticed by the fresh made pasta. That dish did not disappoint and it was absolutely divine. The short rib was juicy and melts apart. My husband got the Seafood Fra Diavolo pasta and that was also amazing. There is a fair amount of seafood (~ 6 shrimp, 2 scallops, 12 clams). He could not stop eating it which he needed to, to make room for dessert. I think his pasta would’ve been even better if it came with fresh made pasta. His pasta was still fantastic with the regular linguini.
Dessert - We got the Peanut Butter Ice Cream pie which looking at the menu did not stand out to us, but someone next to us got that and it looked good. So because we saw it in person, we decided to get it which was the best decision. We aren’t even a huge fan of peanut butter ice cream but this really hit. They give you a big hefty slice, definitely a serving for 2. The picture does not display how big of a portion it is in person.
Overall a great dining experience and our server, John, was excellent and catered to our every need. He even filled our water glasses up promptly and it was a busy night. Something I note because we always have an issue with getting our water glasses filled in other restaurants. 10/10 would recommend...
Read moreThe reservation system doesn't allow you to book parties larger than 5, you have to call the restaurant. You are required to provide a credit card and if your party is a no show, you are charged $25/person. When I visited in Oct we were able to bring a birthday cake (I always ask when going to a new place). When I was there yesterday I was told they had implemented a $25 cutting fee. The indicated it wasn't in the notes when I booked and they apologized but said if we wanted to have the cake we brought we'd have to pay the fee. It doesn't state this anywhere on the website and never disclosed until I indicated I brought a cake. The waitress sent over the manager who said they implemented this recently and was sorry this wasn't communicated. A good manager would have waved this fee as a one time and would make sure it was on their website and communicated to guests! The food was average at best. We asked for bread and 15 min later, they brought out the most tasteless scraps of bread. They made the Papa Gino's breadsticks look 5 star. The salmon was good but the chicken dishes and pasta were bland. The best was when we tried to use a birthday coupon for their club they push on everyone. They couldn't find her in the system. The waitress said it can take 6 months to show up! Again, the manager came over and couldn't help...just kept repeating their policy. After letting her know how disappointed we were with this, the cake fee etc. they finally took a $20 meal off the bill and said they'd notify corporate not to issue a birthday coupon in the event we tried to use it again. Well, let's just say they won't need to worry as we won't be back. Horrible manager, average food and if you speak up, expect the staff and manager to talk about you and yes,...
Read moreordered takeout for four Friday night, and everyone has become very ill. But to start, I arrived and there was one customer also waiting for their takeout order. I give my name to on of the hostess’, and she says that it will be right out, they then bring the other customer what they think to be his food, he leaves and goes to his car. Three minutes later another bag that is presumed to be mine comes out and one hostess says that that is not in fact my name/order to which the hostess says I think I gave the last customer the wrong food, followed by a “should i chase him?” she then runs out of the store, and returns 5 minutes later with a bag of food, she places it on the table behind the hostess stand, the other hostess grabs it, gives it to me and says “sorry for that”, while the other hostess brings the correct order to the man in his car, in the parking lot. Sorry for what? They never gave me an update when they ran to get my meal out of his car, and in fact they kept it from me that they had to go get my meals from someone else’s car, and made no effort to see if the food was opened while in his car. Now I do not believe that the food being given to that man is what made everyone sick, I do think it was purely the kitchen. But I don’t think any restaurant should be retrieving orders from the wrong customers car and still giving them to the customer, and withholding that from them. Whether it was throwing up that night, or the feeling of a stomach bug even 4 days after, everyone who ate the food fell extremely ill, and I would not recommended anyone consume their food. Additionally while eating it, the portions were fairly small, and all the...
