I just visited this place and the chocolate was really good but the coffee was horrible! I hate saying that because the girl was really trying. We ordered large cappuccino and a small iced latte. They proceeded to charge me for 2 large drinks without telling us obviously and it was 15 dollars and some change! I didn’t ask for a receipt because I assumed 2 simple drinks wouldn’t be that hard but boy was I mistaken ! This girl asks my friend if she wants an “iced cappuccino” and proceeds to attempt to make the impossible. Another coworker of hers comes up and says “you can’t make a cappuccino iced” then makes it iced anyway. She proceeded to steam both the milks which I thought was common knowledge that you DONT do that for iced drinks, so I said “sorry, I wanted my latte iced” and she goes “oh okay” and continues to STEAM IT. And the whole time they just keep messing up and saying different things which leaded to her messing up, us getting confused, and also her confusing her coworker. We both got our drinks eventually and the second we took a sip it was absolutely repulsive. We asked for a sweetener for the cappuccino and they pointed us to honey? My friend is choking it down cause she feels bad that I spent so much but I could not even stomach mine. After sipping straight cocoa powder and espresso (since the foamed milk wasn’t stirred in) my drink went right into the trash. 15.62 plus tip ...

Lake Champlain Chocolates is always a treat! I come for the chocolates to take home, but I stay for the delicious ice cream. The chocolate ice cream in a chocolate dipped waffle cone with caramel drizzled on top is absolutely amazing; rich, creamy, and with just a little salty kick from the caramel, perfectly indulgent.

The free samples make the visit even more fun. I always love trying something new, but I usually end up going back to the classics, especially the chocolate ice cream. The coffee ice cream sample I had was delicious, smooth, and flavorful. When it comes to truffles, nothing beats the milk chocolate caramel sea salt, it’s the perfect balance of sweet and salty, with that melt in your mouth chocolate goodness.

I do have to say I can’t believe they no longer have their non dairy chocolate ice cream. It was so close in flavor and texture to their regular chocolate, it truly was the best non dairy chocolate ice cream I’ve ever had. I really miss it!

If I'm in the area, it’s a must stop for both the chocolate...

Don’t waste your time or $$ here. If you are not white, they’re SUPER rude, as well as exorbitantly priced for “Whitman’s Sampler” style products. They’ll also keep an extra eye focused on you while you’re in the store, suspicious, or suspecting that you will steal something.

If you are BIPOC, visiting from out of town, this is one to skip, as it is a HORRIBLE representation of what our awesome little state has to offer and not an experience you’d want to put your children through either.

If you DO end up visiting, be prepared to be majorly disappointed by the product and socially offended by the staff.

Lastly, please don’t walk away from this shop thinking that all businesses in Vermont are operated as racist as this one. 99% of our local businesses are welcoming and inclusive of people from all different backgrounds, colors and sexual orientations.

Final thought for Lake Champlain Chocolates: You need to remember: during these challenging financial times, your product is a luxurious indulgence and NOT a...

I already liked Lake Champlain Chocolates from my quick visits to the storefront on Church Street. I expected this store to be similar, but I was wrong. This location was just renovated and it is wonderfully designed and features not only a store section to buy packaged chocolate and a counter to browse specific sweets but also a cozy hot chocolate and coffee café with a really cool menu of drinks and baked goods. The seating is also nice and the interior design of the store is one of the best I've seen in Vermont. The quality of design reminds me of Barr Hill Gin Distillery. Now that fall is here I cannot wait to have quiet and cozy café mornings in this shop with my hot cocoa and a book. Lastly I'll mention the store sells factory seconds which are discounted 16 oz bags of chocolate that are the same quality and taste but didn't meet some visual standards. These were 15 dollars so we grabbed quite a few to have at home for snacks - definitely check these out.

Visited the Lake Champlain Chocolates store to round out our Vermont trip; they have a large selection of premium chocolates and factory seconds (the ugly but still good ones at discount price). Merch and other goodies are also available. We had visited another location the day prior as this one was larger but with similar offerings with a cafe, seating and ice cream shop incorporated. There was a sample out of seasonal chocolate and the attendants were friendly and helpful - allowing us to try a little bit before purchasing. I’m not a sweets lover/chocolate fan but enjoyed everything I tasted. We had a coupon offer for free chocolate bar after purchase of $25 (spent well over that) making our own specialty box, buying a premade set and chocolate bars. I loved the maple pecan bark, dark chocolate peanut butter cups and Pistachio praline.
