Seeking a quick Mexican lunch, I plugged New World’s address into my nav and followed the directions to an unmarked facade on Pine Street. Uncertainly pushing the glass door open, I was reassured by the tables, chairs, and kitchen beyond in this minimalist, industrial-designed eatery. After a mildly frustrating struggle to tease out options for side items from an apathetically reluctant counter attendant, I ordered the “unwrapped” vegan beans & rice burrito with a side of guacamole, for which I was somewhat shocked to be charged $16 and some change. Some time later I happened to see my unheralded meal cooling on the take-out counter and retrieved it. Initially I was unimpressed with its bland taste but gradually warmed to it, realizing that the brown rice was rather well cooked in the sense that it was fluffy and lacked any oily residue, along with its accompanying strikingly ebony black beans, which also tasted as much in their natural state as if I’d cooked them in my own kitchen. However, both suffered from too much added salt. The small side of sliced pickled jalapeños added enough of an extra kick. The guacamole was fresh and clearly made in-house; the salsa ok. I used these as dips for the two corn tortillas included with the meal. The generous portion was reason enough not to go back and order anything else, and I sauntered out into the blazing sunshine.

I have been a customer of New World Tortilla for many year and hundreds of burritos. The tortillas are the best in the country. We have tried tortillas throughout the Southwest but nothing compares to New World. Also, they are amazingly consistent. I get the chicken Vera Cruz almost every time I visit and it is always awesome. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating. Overall, this is an excellent Restaurant.

Very confusing. Beef burritos on the same menu as Curry and Greek salad. Beef burrito was disappointing. Watery ground beef with lettuce and tomatoes. About 3/4 through I think I spotted some sour cream. Definitely not Mexican food. Dining room is bland and uninviting. Sign on the outside is almost non-existent.

Great place to work and amazing local business owners that actually care about their employees and customers. Plus we're happy to accept any special requests or modifications you'd like! Would you like your chicken or steak finely diced? Want your tortilla lightly toasted, just slightly heated on the flat top, or extra crispy? We got you! We also make all of our torillas, dressings, sauces, and salsas fresh in house so we can tell you exactly what's in them if you have a food allergy or sensitivity, and we make custom burritos for dayyysssss so dont be afraid to get creative with your order! I used to be a manger at chipotle and honestly idk how locals aren't in on this yet because the food quality and service is like...

Staff here has always been rather surly, no big deal since the food was pretty good. But over the last 7 years or so, the food quality has gown steadily down hill along with the service. The staff seems to just choose when they are open or not, regardless of the hours posted on Google or their Facebook page. I've often called after 6pm and just had nobody pick up when they're supposed to be open til 7 (and I'm talking 6:25, not 6:50), or had someone ask me to hold only to never come back to the call. Terrible service and declining food quality have really turned me off of what was once one of my favorite spots in Burlington. Management needs to get their stuff together; their staff is not doing...
