Chroma Optics — Local services in South Burlington

Absolutely disappointed with my experience. I have gone to this establishment once prior and have been able to order through a different brand of contacts outside of their business. I returned to update my eye prescription and was not told about being unable to order through my own brand of contacts at my appointment. I was upfront and explained that I have been ordering through Hubble for years now and will continue to use this brand and the doctor did not say that this would be against company policy. So I paid for an eye appointment to renew my prescription to be told that I cannot order the contact brand that I prefer. They would not change the brand of my prescription nor give me a refund so I can go somewhere else. I am left feeling extremely frustrated because if I was told this originally I would not have gone through Chrome Optics for my contact prescription. They did nothing to help me even though this was a fault on their end on not being fully transparent about their “company policy”. Like I said, I was very forthcoming about the brand that I used and the eye doctor did not say anything negative or tell me that it wouldn’t be possible. I’ve been out of contact at for 3 months waiting for this and now I have to figure out somewhere new and also how to pay for this. Popped into Chroma Optics on the way home from South End City Market to recycle a mountain of my partner's contact lens containers (because Vermont, right?) and walked out with a thorough exam thanks to a timely cancellation. My ice cream didn't even melt- talk about efficient!

Dr. Sudarsky and the crew are top-notch. The screening and exam were quick and painless. Everyone front-to-back was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and friendly - and had the uncanny ability to pick frames that not only fit my face but also make me look like I've kind of got my life together.

Need a screw tightened, a nose pad replaced, or lens spray refilled? They've got us covered with free maintenance.

Because of how high-end the place looks, I was initially a bit worried that I'd need to sell a kidney... but especially after some mediocre experiences at a few other area optometrists, the value is there. Chroma Optics seems to be the place to go if you're after a blend of customer service, style, and professionalism....

I don’t typically write reviews but I was so impressed by my experience at Chroma that I felt obligated to share.

I was immediately impressed by their utilization of the latest and greatest technology. The staff was friendly and welcoming, well versed themselves in speaking to each test they conducted.

Dr Jones was extremely informative and knowledgeable, patient with answering my many questions, and efficient.

Above all, I was most impressed with their frame/lens and billing personnel (I believe their names were Kelly and Anne - Give them a raise!). As someone who is relatively new to navigating healthcare as a 26 year old, they went the extra mile to help me understand costs, billing and thoroughly reviewed my options.

I will gladly return to Chroma and recommend anyone looking for eye care do the same. I cannot wait to receive my new...
