So I usually post pictures of the food. I am Peruvian so it’s hard for me to give a negative review on food from my mother’s country. Aji de gallina probably the saltiest I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant and the only one that doesn’t know how to shred chicken properly. Also didn’t have all the ingredients to the dish which is a traditional staple Peruvian black olives. Second the tallarines verdes con bistec looked greasy and the sauce was definitely premade not fresh. Very disappointed and definitely not worth 50$. I also had the chicha morada and it felt like it came out of a bag and they just added a ridiculous amount of sugar to it. Will not be returning. 4$ for a cup of white rice is disrespectful. The amount proportioned made me feel like they were trying to serve you the least amount of food possible. I have never rejected Peruvian food but this was the first time. Once again. My standards on Peruvian food is high I am Peruvian and I speak about this location so that people understand that this is not quality Peruvian food. So if you do find yourself trying a Peruvian restaurant don’t be alarmed. It’s a rarity if the food is bad. I will definitely not be...
Read moreMi Causa is a fantastic restaurant. My co-worker and I travel all over and when we found Mi Causa on our previous visit to Burnsville, we had it for dinner and then lunch the next day. Then this week while on another trip we came here for two dinners and a lunch. I lived in Peru for a couple years, so I know and love the food. My friend had never tried it.We both love it.
The ceviche is perfect Peruvian style. The Tallerine Verde with chicken or beef is excellent. The Parilla a lo Pobre is done right. The steak in the beef Verde and Pobre is the same and the flavor is so amazing. They do Chicha Morada (a Peruvian Purple corn and fruits drink) that you have to try. Also the Lomo Saltado Is great. Anticuchos are another Peruvian specialty that are worth trying here. Oh and their rotisserie chicken is on another level compared to typical American places. If you know Peruvian food, then this place will satisfy your cravings. If you haven't had it, you are missing out. Go here ASAP. You will be...

Let’s start with the good:
The causa is really tasty, and the rotisserie chicken is also tasty. The flavor of the anticuchos is delicious, BUT...
Here comes the bad part, which has been a constant issue with the anticuchos.
The 4 times I’ve ordered them this year, all 4 times they’ve been served raw on the inside.
The photo you’ll see is from the last time. I told the waitress to please make sure they were well-cooked inside, not red in the middle, and that I’ve had this problem before. She wrote it down (or at least it seemed like she did), but just like the previous times, they still came out undercooked. Not all the pieces, but one in particular was more raw than the rest.
Which brings me to the service: terrible. The waitress from the other times is “nice,” but also rude. One time I asked for the anticuchos to be well-cooked, and she said: So you want them burned? I said: No. I want them normal, not raw.
This last time, when we ordered drinks, I asked for ají verde. She came back with the drinks and I had to remind her three times about the ají verde. Then I asked the man I believe is the owner for some rocoto. He said: I’ll bring it to you right away… and I’m still waiting.
It’s a shame the service is so bad, because the food is good and I always recommend them.
Mr. Owner, anticuchos in Peru —and everywhere else— are never served raw, and I’ve heard others complain about the same thing with your anticuchos.
Please, pay more attention to the service and to...
