First time here. The one star is strictly for the coffee. Service was good at the drive thru, she was friendly & fast.Did say at the window that she hoped it was fine that she added a chocolate drizzle in the cup. We said that's fine, but wondered why she even asked as it was a 12 oz half caff MOCHA breve we ordered. We'd obviously expected a pump or two of Ghirardelli chocolate syrup or something similar, so a drizzle of extra would probably go unnoticed and not need to be mentioned.WAS piping hot, too hot for our preference but we hadn't said otherwise. The lid was properly attached, but barely clicked to the cup, so was worried about that, but luckily no accidents. Think they'd be wise to change the cups. The unfortunate...didn't even TASTE or SMELL like mocha, OR coffee at all for that matter! Also not certain it was half & half, seemed thinner like milk. Didn't taste BAD per se, but really had almost zero taste of anything, but teeny bit sweet, NOT exaggerating.Wondering if they didn't know what half caff or the whole order meant? Not sure what it was, but idk if any espresso was in there at all! Took the lid off and stirred it thinking maybe something was on the bottom, but no. Looked light caramel colored from I assume the chocolate drizzle that had been added. SUPER disappointed for $6.75 which included a $1.00 tip. An establishment CALLED a coffee co. should focus on coffee and be pros at only that. We HAD concerns of coffee AND burgers/sandwiches, breakfast/lunch/dinner at ONE place, doesn't make sense, but decided to try. The food menu DID look great though! Serve coffee OR food, maybe not both. Bummed it...
Read moreWhen we showed up we were the only customers in the building. We placed our order and waited, and waited, and waited. More customers had arrived at that point and were all getting their food. I went to the counter to ask if or order was lost or something and she goes to the back to look. A minute later someone entirely different comes out from the back with our bag and hands it over without saying a word and walks away. No, "sorry your food was back here for 30 minutes just sitting." Not even a "thanks for coming" or anything. Just silently hands me my bag and walks off as if im an inconvenience. And yeah, the food had just been sitting there for 30 minutes, the fries were soggy and the juice from the burger had soaked through the wrap they put it in so the burger was a big soggy papery mess. Absolutely gross. 2 burgers, two orders of fries and two drinks- almost $50 and it was a big soggy mess. I definitely will not be eating at this place again, nor would i recommend anyone eat here.
Bonus nitpick: the interior menu (cant speak on the drive through) just has pictures of their burgers, no descriptions or anything. Just the name of the burger and a little PNG picture of what it might look like. So if you want to know whats on the burger you have to ask about every single individual burger and what comes on it or else youre just taking a shot in the dark....
Read moreI want to start by saying the workers at BW Blacksmith are incredible — hardworking, friendly, and they go above and beyond for every customer. But unfortunately, they’re not being treated the way they deserve. The business pays employees just $11 an hour, which is minimum wage, and here’s the real issue: they take every dollar of tips and count it as part of that wage.
So even when customers tip generously, the staff never actually gets those tips — it just helps the business meet the bare minimum requirement. That means when employees stay late, cover extra shifts, or deliver top-notch service, they don’t get anything extra for it.
It’s frustrating as a customer who genuinely wants to support the staff — not the system that takes advantage of them. Especially when the food is already overpriced, and clearly the profits aren’t going toward treating the workers fairly.
Until this changes, we will not be tipping, because tips should be a reward on top of fair pay — not used as a loophole to avoid paying it.
The staff deserves better, and people need to know what’s really happening...
