Updated...Things have changed at this place. Used to have great customer service and a neat time with the people here. Not the case any longer. Many now act as if it's a high school popularity. Get less than paid for instance... a petite filet instead of the full size as well as sent back 3 times lately undercooked inside fully cooked outer. They just need a refresh of people working here again, or managed. Steaks have gone down hill as well, but it's always really been a toss one day to the next these past few years. Treated these folks well and large tips. Just really gone down hill. Hopefully that will change for the better someday. Below was a review I did several years ago. A lot of it I think some of their newer waitresses have been spinning rumor mills as it seems to their regular dedicated customers.
My favorite steak. Make sure they give you the correct steak. Sometimes needs to be sent back in or redone but it's probably the best once your order is correct. I go here a lot. I give 5 because the steak...
Read moreThe Derby Steakhouse is located off Harrison Avenue. It has adequate parking. It has a bar/casino which I didn't visit. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. We were seated as soon as we walked through the door. We had water at the table along with warm bread as we perused the ample menu. Of the many appetizers available, we chose the baked Brie which was delicious. As it was Friday, the soup of the day was clam chowder, which I ordered. The clam chowder was excellent. My wife had a spinach salad with vinaigrette dressing that she enjoyed. My wife had the lobster with pasta and white sauce which she declared was just right. I had the 16oz. Rib Eye, medium rare, with baby red potatoes and broccoli. The meal was superb! For dessert I had the lemon cake which was the right choice after such a delicious meal. The waitress was very professional and very pleasant and ensured that our dining experience was top notch. I heartily recommend The...
Read moreWhat happened to the pride they used to have at the Derby steak house. We used to live in Butte. Went to the Derby alot to eat. We was excited to come back to eat at the well known, Derby steak house. We came all the way from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. We got there at the end of Saturday night. First we had a rude waiter/bartender, that made comments about us to the line cook so loud we could hear him. Even the help heard him say what he said. She said he was rude, she apologized like 3 times. I asked her to report him to the manager, she did go tell some one in charge, just seen them stand and look our way when she told the manager. Normally the manager would have come an offered an apology. Not here. The most horrifying thing was that one of the grill cooks sneezing like three times over the grill without even turning away from the grill. We was in the bar where we could see everything. This all took place...
